摘要： A lock assembly includes first and second lock members independently movable along a central axis between a first position securing a corresponding latch in a latching position, and a second position permitting movement of the corresponding latch from the latching position to a releasing position. A plurality of dials receive the first and second lock members therethrough and each dial includes a first unlocking feature and a second unlocking feature. When the plurality of dials are rotated such that each of the first unlocking features aligns with corresponding blocking features on the first lock member, the first lock member is movable from the first position to the second position. When the plurality of dials are rotated such that each of the second unlocking features aligns with corresponding blocking features on the second lock member, the second lock member is movable from the first position to the second position.

Alternate embodiments for locking and unlocking the ratchet mechanism are disclosed. The tightening mechanism carries sense loops which if compromised actuate an onboard audible alarm. The cables are part of one or more of the sense loops. The device is configured to sound a security gate alarm upon passing through the gate and upon simply reaching a certain distance from the gate. The tightening mechanism includes a housing having a flip-up handle for tightening the ratchet mechanism to tighten the cable.

In one form of the locking device, the same includes a member that can be affixed to a binding of a snowboard, and includes a releasable cable that can be wrapped around a fixed or stationary object so as to secure the sporting item thereto for safe storage. In one embodiment, the cable is normally retained in a flanged section of a pad of the locking system, but can be released therefrom for attachment to the fixed or stationery object. In another embodiment, the cable can be retained around a boot binding assembly.

摘要： A system for securing wheeled articles such as bicycles to immobile objects is disclosed. In one preferred embodiment, a first length of cable (12) and a second length of cable (14) are kept within a housing (10) until needed to secure the article to an object. A cable holding sleeve (16) holds the lengths of cable in a substantially side-by-side relationship when the cables are within the housing. When needed, the lengths of cable are withdrawn from the housing, passed through the frame of the article, around the object and the two ends of the cables are locked together by way of, for example, a cylindrical combination lock (54). When the first and second lengths of cable are unlocked, a constant tension spring (32), provided in some embodiments, retracts the lengths of cable back into the housing. The present invention is particularly well suited for application with bicycles and may be applied to a variety of other wheeled vehicles.
