摘要： A sonotrode and anvil are adapted for ultrasonic welding of work pieces, to produce a narrower weld region that exhibits greater durability, permitting use of less material per package. The horn-to-anvil contact is through a plurality of energy directors arranged into a three-dimensional grid pattern to be capable of distributed vibration-transmissive contact. The energy directors include a series of plateau surfaces regularly spaced apart in a first direction, and in a second direction that is orthogonal to the first direction, to form the grid pattern. The energy directors of the horn are configured to interlock with the energy directors of the anvil. The rectangular-shaped plateaus are spaced apart by angled side-surfaces that form valleys. A stepped transition to a corresponding region of reduced height for the energy directors of the sonotrode and anvil may form a cosmetic seal region with a lesser integrity, in addition to the main barrier seal.

摘要： A web of cleaning products and a method of manufacturing the same is disclosed. The web includes a carrier sheet having a plurality of depressions each filled, and in direct contact with, at least one cleaning composition. A plurality of internal lids that correspond with the plurality of depressions are sealed to the carrier sheet in a manner covering the plurality of depressions. Additionally, a plurality of external lids that correspond with the plurality of internal lids are sealed to the carrier sheet and cover the plurality of internal lids. The carrier sheet and external lids may be made of a water-resistant material, and the internal lids may be made of a water-soluble material. In one embodiment, the internal lids may be omitted, and instead the depressions be filled with water-soluble pouches, each of which contains a respective dose of a cleaning composition.

摘要： A bag made of a flexible packing material comprising a sheet of material having an inner face and an outer face and folded for the formation of a tube with an overlapping portion. In the overlapping portion, the packing material is sealed inner face to outer face by means of a lapseal. Along two side edge portions, the tube is welded inner face to outer face of the overlapping portion for obtaining a closed bag enclosing the packed product. The packing material provides a peel seal, when welded inner face to outer face and a strong seal when welded inner face to inner face. Seen relative to the bag, the packing material comprises an inner layer comprising polyethylene, and outer layer comprising a copolymer of polyethylene and polypropylene and a subjacent intermediate layer comprising polypropylene.

摘要： A packaging machine and process for loading bags of a novel web of side connected bags are disclosed. The web is fed through a bagger section by a pair of grooved main transport belts and a pair of lip transport belts each disposed in the groove of the associated main belt to trap bag lips in the grooves. Adjustable belt spreaders space reaches of the transport belts as they move through a load station whereby to sequentially open the bags into rectangular configurations. A closure section in the form of a novel and improved heat sealer is releasably connectable to the bagger section. The sections are adjustable together between horizontal and vertical orientations. Processes of opening, closing and sealing side connected bags are also disclosed.

The bag is made of material which can be caused to form discreet non-permeable compartments for holding separate aliquots of the liquid sample.

摘要： A dispensing package for a roll of seed tape consisting of a plasticized cardboard backing to which a transparent cover member is hermetically sealed to define a reel cavity. A reel for the seed tape is rotatably carried in the cavity, which includes a tangential outlet through which the tape can be dispensed. The reel consists of a flat circular cardboard member, having suitable printed indicia on one face for viewing through the transparent cover, and a plastic spool which cooperates with the cardboard member to carry the tape. Means are provided for locking the reel in a predetermined position to preclude its rotation due to hygroscopic expansion and contraction of the tape, and to thereby maintain the printed indicia in an upright position.
