    • A method of forming a coating layer on a golf ball includes spraying a first quantity of a coating composition onto the golf ball to form a partially-coated golf ball that has a first pole disposed in a top position, a second pole disposed in a bottom position, a diameter extending between the first and second poles, and an axis of rotation perpendicular to the diameter. After spraying the first quantity, the method includes rotating the partially-coated golf ball about the axis to translate the first and second poles such that the first pole is disposed in the bottom position and the second pole is disposed in the top position. After rotating, the method includes spraying a second quantity of the composition onto the partially-coated golf ball to form the coating layer on the golf ball. An apparatus for forming the coating layer on the golf ball is also disclosed.

    • A transmission for a vehicle is disclosed which includes a casing defining a first cavity and a second cavity inside the casing. A platform is at least partially disposed inside the casing to separate the first and second cavities. The platform defines a plurality of first apertures arranged together to define a first group. An interface assembly includes a first support and a plurality of first connectors attached to the first support to define a first bundle. The first support is selectively attached to the platform to position the first bundle relative to the platform such that each of the first connectors are disposed in respective ones of the first apertures of the first group. The first connectors are coupled to a power inverter module and a first motor/generator through the first apertures of the platform to electrically connect the power inverter module and the first motor/generator to each other.

    • A turbocharger for an internal combustion engine includes a bearing housing and a rotating assembly arranged therein. The rotating assembly includes a shaft with a turbine wheel and a compressor wheel. The turbocharger also includes a thrust bearing assembly operatively connected to the shaft, lubricated by pressurized oil from the engine, and configured to transmit thrust forces developed by the turbine wheel to the bearing housing. The thrust bearing assembly includes a thrust plate having a first thrust face and a thrust washer having a second thrust face. An oil film is generated between the first and second thrust faces, and the first and second thrust faces rotate relative to each other and transmit the thrust forces to the bearing housing. The thrust plate and/or the thrust washer include a circumferential groove configured to trap oil-borne debris and minimize an amount of the debris in the oil film.

    • A position control system for a manual picking workstation having a plurality of component bins includes a light device and a process controller. The light device projects a light beam along a plane. The process controller includes a processor and memory containing a calibrated assembly sequence and predetermined bin coordinates for each of the component bins. The process controller executes a method to detect, via the light device, an instance of beam breakage wherein the light beam is interrupted or broken, and to determine two-dimensional (2D) coordinates of the beam breakage. The process controller also determines corresponding bin coordinates of an expected bin via the calibrated assembly sequence, compares the determined 2D coordinates to the corresponding bin coordinates, and executes a control action when the determined coordinates do not match the corresponding bin coordinates. The light device may be an oscillating laser scanner or fixed lasers.
