摘要： The present invention relates to novel multi-layer coextruded thermoplastic stretch wrap films useful for the packaging or palletizing of goods. More particularly the films of this invention comprise at least three layers having two outer layers and at least one intermediate layer placed between the outer layers. The intermediate layer is formed from a high pressure low density polyethylene resin and the outer layers are formed from a linear low density polyethylene copolymer such as ethylene copolymerized with a minor amount of at least one C.sub.4 to C.sub.10 alpha-olefin, such as hexene-1, octene-1, decene-1, 4-methyl-pentene-1 and butene-1. The force required to stretch the novel films of this invention may be controlled by the thickness of the intermediate layer relative to overall film thickness, the melt index of the intermediate layer resin, the molecular weight of the intermediate layer resin or a combination thereof.

The ribs are joined to the backing such that the contact angle between the ribs and the surface of the backing ranges from about 10.degree. to about 160.degree.. At least 50% of the cross-section of the ribs must project from the rib-bearing surface of the tape. It is preferred that the adhesive be a pressure-sensitive adhesive. The tape of this invention can be prepared by means of coextrusion techniques.

摘要： Packaging films, and packages made with those films which have reduced sensitivity to humidity. The films include a first layer comprising an EVOH copolymer and a second layer comprising a vinylidene chloride copolymer. Packages made with the vinylidene chloride copolymer layer between the low ethylene content EVOH copolymer and the contained product provide high oxygen barrier properties under both high and low humidity conditions. At high humidity conditions, the oxygen barrier properties of the package are provided by the vinylidene chloride copolymer. At lower humidity conditions, the packaging material provides the superior oxygen barrier properties of the EVOH. So the packages of the invention provide superior oxygen barrier properties of the low ethylene content EVOH at lower humidities. But the oxygen barrier properties of the package are never less than those provided by the vinylidene chloride copolymer, even at high humidity conditions.

摘要： The invention presents to the art a novel, improved shoe stiffener which comprises co-extruded layers of plastics film. The shoe stiffener comprises co-extruded layers of plastics film, a first of the layers comprising an ionomeric material and providing a main body of the stiffener and a second layer comprising a plastics material which does not adhere to a fusion press under conditions normally encountered therein during bonding of a shoe stiffener to a shoe upper. Nylon 6 is the preferred second layer plastics material. The co-extrusion product replaces fabric backed shoe stiffeners in which flaws induced in the film by the fabric may provide notches from which cracks in the material can propagate.
