摘要： An extrusion head assembly for adjustably positioning a view stripe in a tubular parison to correct the view stripe positioning in situations where twisting of the parison prior to molding occurs. The apparatus includes an externally adjustable member which circumferentially positions the view stripe in the parison relative to the extrusion head assembly so that the view stripe will correspond with the mold parting line of a container blow molded from the parison. The adjustable member circumferentially positions the view stripe without causing the development of stagnation pockets in the stream of the plastic forming the view stripe. Degregation is prevented by dividing the flow of the plastic forming the view stripe into two streams which individually and continuously flow from a common inlet port to a common exit port.

摘要： A process to prepare a glass run channel composite of the type utilized in vehicle applications for sealing against window glass, includes a cured elastomeric substrate having one or more sealing surfaces, and a polyolefin compound having a low melt index and a high density, and optionally containing a softening compound and other additives. The polyolefin compound is solvent-free and substantially melted when contacted with the sealing surfaces of the elastomeric substrate prior to cure, and upon cure of the elastomeric substrate, the polyolefin compound adheres to the substrate and provides a solid, low-friction abrasion-resistant coating on the sealing surfaces of the substrate for sealing against a window introduced into the glass run channel.

摘要： A method for producing an extrusion having a wood grain appearance. A first extruder including a die and a second extruder which includes a housing and a screw is provided, the screw having a portion disposed within the housing and a portion projecting outwardly from the housing. The second extruder is secured to the die of the first extruder by a pipe, the pipe receiving the outwardly projecting portion of the second extruder screw. A first material is extruded through the first extruder die to produce an extrusion and a second material is introduced into the second extruder. The second material is delivered through the second extruder and the pipe means to bond the second material to at least a portion of the surface of the extrusion to provide an extrusion with at least a portion of its surface having a wood grain appearance. An associated second extruder as well as an apparatus for producing an extrusion having a wood grain appearance is also provided.
