摘要： A safe includes a housing, a door and a locking mechanism. The housing includes a lock interface disposed on an external surface of the housing. The housing defines an internal cavity in communication with an opening of the housing. The door is configured to be assembled with the opening of the housing. The door includes first and second shackle legs configured to extend into the housing when the door is assembled with the housing. The locking mechanism is disposed within the housing and includes at least one locking member configured to lockingly engage the first and second shackle legs when the door is assembled with the housing. When the door is assembled with the housing, proper manipulation of the lock interface disengages the at least one locking member from the first and second shackle legs, thereby allowing the door to be removed from the housing.

摘要： A lock interface for a biometric lock is provided. The lock interface includes a body, a biometric sensor, and a biometric alignment feature. The biometric sensor is mounted to the body for reading a unique identifying characteristic of an individual. The alignment feature is associated with the sensor to assist a user in properly positioning the unique identifying characteristic with respect to the sensor. The present invention also includes a method for unlocking a safe using a biometric lock. The method comprises initiating the biometric lock by contacting the lock interface, recognizing a visual cue that indicates that a unique identifying characteristic is to be entered using the sensor, and entering the unique identifying characteristic feature using the sensor. The entered unique identifying characteristic is compared with a stored unique identifying characteristic, and the safe is unlocked if the unique identifying characteristic matches the stored unique identifying characteristic.

The electronic money coffer is provided with a depository unit having a structure resistant to an abnormal state. The depository unit accommodates the optional number of electronic money storing media such as IC cards excepting those electronic money storing media used in ordinary electronic money dealing. When a sensor detects an abnormal state such as abnormal temperature and smoke caused by a fire or the like, the values of electronic money in the electronic money storing media used in ordinary electronic money dealing are transferred to the electronic money storing media in the depository unit. The electronic money coffer can maintain by itself the safety of electronic money when a fire or the like occurs. The assets in an electronic money dealing system can be safely and reliably managed by the electronic money coffer which is compact and cost effective.

When the arm is in the position of capturing a member of the frame of the chair, the arm is locked by a second key operated lock access to which is only permitted through the internal compartment. A second embodiment of lock box has a hanger in the form of a pawl mounted in conjunction with the top surface of the container for locking onto the frame of the chair. Movement of the pawl from a locking position to an unlocking position being only permitted with the access door in the open position.
