摘要： When radiating light onto a liquid crystal composition containing a photosensitive material, the alignment of liquid crystal molecules is adjusted by applying a voltage to the liquid crystal composition layer, to achieve substantially orderly alignment of the liquid crystal molecules, or the alignment of the liquid crystal molecules is made uniform by adjusting the structure of the liquid crystal display device, or any display defect is driven out of the display area. When radiating light to the liquid crystal composition containing the photosensitive material, the alignment of the liquid crystal molecules can be adjusted so as to achieve substantially orderly alignment of the liquid crystal molecules, and the liquid crystal display device can thus be driven stably.

摘要： There is provided an MVA type liquid crystal display device having high brightness and excellent display quality. The liquid crystal display device includes a pair of substrates disposed to be opposite to each other, a liquid crystal sealed between the pair of substrates, plural pixel areas each including a pixel electrode 16a formed on one of the substrates and a pixel electrode 16b separated from the pixel electrode 16a, a TFT 20 disposed in each of the pixel areas and including a source electrode 22 electrically connected to the pixel electrode 16a, a linear projection 42 formed on the other substrate and to regulate alignment of the liquid crystal, and a control capacitance section to capacity couple the source electrode 22 and the pixel electrode 16b and including a control capacitance electrode 33 which is electrically connected to the source electrode 22, is opposite to at least part of the pixel electrode 16b through an insulating film, and at least part of which is disposed to overlap with the linear projection 42 when viewed perpendicularly to a substrate surface and extends along the linear projection 42.

摘要： The invention provides a substrate for a display which can be easily repaired even when there are problems such as inter-layer shorting attributable to invasion of static electricity. The substrate has a first wiring section disposed in a display area thereof and formed so as to outwardly extend from the inside of the display area. The substrate also has a second wiring section formed such that it intersects the first wiring section outside the display area on the substrate with an insulation film interposed between them. The substrate further has an opening formed in the second wiring section at least in a region thereof overlapping the first wiring section intersecting the same. Further, the substrate has overlapping portions formed at two ends of the opening where the first and second wiring sections overlap each other with the insulation film interposed between them.

A configuration is employed which includes a glass substrate, gate bus lines and drain bus lines formed on the glass substrate such that they intersect each other through an insulating film, pixel regions provided in the form of a matrix on the substrate, a TFT formed at each of the pixel regions, a storage capacitor electrode formed at each of the pixel regions, a connection wiring which is formed of the same material as that of a source electrode of the TFT and the storage capacitor electrode and which electrically connects the source electrode and the storage capacitor electrode, CF resin layers formed at the pixel regions, and a pixel electrode formed at each of the pixel regions on the CF resin layers.
