摘要： A control system for use with a fire-fighting device connected to a pump includes a user interface configured to receive a user-requested parameter of fluid, and a base component in communication with the user interface. The base component includes a programmable logic controller having predefined logic stored thereon. The base component automatically controls operation of the pump based on the predefined logic, the user-requested parameter of fluid, and at least two of: a first actuation state of a first valve configured to control a first flow of liquid from a storage tank at the fire-fighting device, a second actuation state of a second valve configured to control a second flow of liquid from a remote water source, a third actuation state of a third valve configured to control a third flow of liquid to a nozzle, a volume of water stored at the storage tank, and a water pressure associated with the remote water source.

摘要： An aspirated smoke detector includes at least one ambient atmosphere inflow collection pipe with a plurality of inflow ports arranged along the pipe. The ports of the pipe are defined at least in part by temperature sensitive materials which alter the area of the respective inflow port in response to physical and/or chemical changes. As the temperature increases the area increases, thereby drawing more of the local ambient air and airborne particulate matter into the flow pipe, and then onto the smoke sensing chamber. This increased flow off-sets the dilution present due to other air in the respective pipe from other inflow ports which might not be near the developing fire condition.

Also described are methods of preventing or extinguishing fires by introducing these compositions into an air-containing enclosed area and maintaining the composition in an amount sufficient to suppress combustion of combustible material in that enclosed area.

摘要： A control system for use with a fire-fighting device includes a remote component having a touch sensitive screen configured to receive a user-requested parameter of fluid and to display a plurality of indicators associated with the fire-fighting device. The control system also includes a base component including a programmable logic controller having predefined logic stored thereon. The base component automatically controls operation of the pump based on the predefined logic and the user-requested parameter of fluid. The remote component receives signals from the base component and presents, via the touch sensitive screen, at least one of a first of the plurality of indicators indicative of a water volume associated with a first water source stored at a fire fighting device, and a second of the plurality of indicators indicative of a water pressure associated with a second water source remote from the fire-fighting device.

The system comprises a composition including water, a solid particulate material, and a foaming agent, the composition being aeratable to form an aerated slurry, and an apparatus to aerate the composition to form the aerated slurry and to apply the aerated slurry to the object. Upon application, the aerated slurry forms a thermally-insulating layer adapted to substantially cover a surface of the object, thereby protecting the object from fire damage. The thermally-insulating layer is further adapted to dry on the surface of the object, and whereby the thermally-insulating layer is removable from the surface of the object by application of water.

摘要： A clothes dryer vent coupling system for connecting the vent outlet of a clothes dryer to an exhaust pipe in a room wall includes a rectangular housing secured to the wall and includes sides and a front wall. An outlet coupling on one side of the housing is connected to the exhaust pipe through rigid or flexible tubing. The front wall of the housing includes a round inlet opening facing forward. A connector coupling connected to the vent outlet at the back of the clothes dryer has a conical end but with openings therein. When the dryer is moved toward the room wall, the connector coupling is guided into and enters the inlet opening. Once in place, a rubber gasket around the connector coupling seals the coupling to the housing.
