    • A method and system of providing information and directions to truck drivers in relation to the availability of specifically marked parking places within a certain highway truck stop area is provided. Such a method includes the utilization of properly placed sensors working in combination with a particular algorithm to provide reliable information in terms of actual availability of such spaces as well as indications as to the actual size of the vehicles parked within such spaces at specific times. As such, this system accords a manner of properly notifying truck drivers of the availability of parking spaces along a highway from a distance, as well as the potential to reserve such spaces on demand. Additionally, then, the ability to indicate the presence of a smaller vehicle that attempts to utilize such a parking space in unauthorized fashion may be handled within a remote platform.

    • The invention relates to a method for supporting a driver of a vehicle (2) in maneuvering the vehicle (2) on a driving route (4), in particular when parking a vehicle (2) into or out of a parking space (3), with the aid of a portable communication device (13). At least one vehicle external sensor device (11, 17) is provided which is arranged stationarily relative to the driving route (4). The sensor device (11, 17) captures data relating to the vehicle (2) located on the driving route (4) and wirelessly emits signals (15, 15′) comprising the captured data in such a way that same signals (15, 15′) reach the interior of the vehicle (2). The signals (15, 15′) are received through the portable communication device (13), and the data are output through the portable communication device (13). The invention also relates to a system (10) as well as a portable communication device (13).

    • In accordance with the present invention, there are provided three bars of light to help a user maneuver a vehicle into a space accessed by a garage door that is controlled by an electric door opener. The three bars of light are powered by an electric garage door opener using one of the two electric lamp outputs of the garage door opener. A simple screw-in plug base and triple tap adapter allows one outlet to power the three bars of light. When a vehicle approaches the garage and signals for the garage door to open the three bars of light are activated. The driver of the vehicle need only keep the center bar of light centered between the outside bars of light to properly align the vehicle.

    • A garage parking mat that assists an individual in properly parking their vehicle in a garage. The parking mat is fabricated from two durable rubber mats, sensors, a warning light box, insulated wiring, and various attached hardware. The rubber mats are adjustable in length and include lateral strips across the front and rear on each mat. Within the strips are pressure sensors that are designed to notify the attached hardware when a vehicle's tires are located on a pressure sensor. The strips also have a series of sensors located on the outer edges of each rubber mat to detect improper steering by a driver. The warning light box includes a series of lights, including a red and green light, to visually signal a driver when the driver is pulling a vehicle into the garage.
