摘要： An analog meter reading system is applied to an analog meter provided with a scale and a pointer and reads a measured value of the analog meter. The analog meter reading system includes: a unique information acquisition unit that acquires unique information of the analog meter; an image acquisition unit that acquires an image of the analog meter for reading the measured value; a detection unit that detects a reference point on the scale and a pointer from the image; a rotation angle calculation unit that calculates a rotation angle of the pointer until a state in which the pointer points to the reference point changes to a state in which the pointer points to the measuring point based on the reference point and the pointer that are detected; and a measured value conversion unit that converts the rotation angle into the measured value using the unique information.

In an exemplary embodiment, a sub-meter interrupter is included that has a default position to allow for utility reading of a utility flow meter and a second position that allows for third-party reading of the utility flow meter. A third-party flow monitor or interrupter can also monitor attempted “reads” by the utility while the third-party flow monitor is reading the utility flow meter and can switch to the default (e.g., utility read setting) so as to allow the utility to conduct its read.

摘要： A remote unit includes an electronics assembly, a housing, and a fastening member. The electronics assembly includes a communications module and an image sensor, having a lens with a field of view, that captures images of a display of a meter. The housing includes a cover coupled to a base member. The base member couples to the meter and includes an aperture. The electronics assembly is retained between the base member and the cover, such that the lens aligns with the aperture. The fastening member receives a portion of the housing in a hollow section. A mechanism of the fastening member attaches to a portion of the meter, maintaining the display in the field of view. The communications module transmits image data, derived from the captured images, to a hub unit. The hub unit processes the image data, and forwards information extracted from the image data to a remote server.

摘要： A rotary element is equipped with a pattern representing a reflected binary code on at least three bits. A detection circuit is configured to sense the pattern and deliver an incident signal encoded in reflected binary code on at least three bits. The incident signal is converted by a transcoding circuit into an intermediate signal encoded in reflected binary code on two bits. A decoding stage decodes the intermediate signal and outputs at least one clock signal representing the amount of rotation of the rotary element and a direction signal representing the direction of rotation. A processing circuit determines the movement of the rotary element, and has at least one general purpose timer designed to receive the at least one clock signal and direction signal.

Known loads may be applied to calibrate the monitoring system. The monitoring system may measure the power consumption of appliances operating on the electrical system and/or detect possible fault conditions. The monitoring system may be distributed across multiple monitoring units and other computing devices. Output devices may be used to output a summary of the power consumption or other operation of monitored electrical appliances.
