摘要： A method for detecting RFID tags attached to items positioned at a radio frequency identification (RFID) self-service checkout station is presented. The method includes creating one or more virtual shields at the RFID self-service checkout station, the one or more virtual shields defining checkout bins, associating RFID readers to the checkout bins, and enabling an RFID reader associated with the checkout bins to differentiate between RFID tags attached to items positioned inside a checkout bin and RFID tags attached to items positioned outside the checkout bin by at least determining a signal strength of each RFID tag detected by the RFID reader and estimating, based on an outcome of the signal strength of each RFID tag, a distance between each RFID reader and each RFID tag.

摘要： An incontinence detection system includes an incontinence detection pad for placement beneath a person to be monitored. The incontinence detection pad has a passive radio frequency identification (RFID) tag. A reader is provided and a plurality of antennae is coupled to the reader. The reader includes a bistatic radio frequency (RF) switch matrix which is operable to establish a first antenna of the plurality of antennae as a transmit antenna that is used to wirelessly energize the passive RFID tag and to establish a second antennae of the plurality of antennae as a receive antenna that is used to read backscattered data that may be emitted from the passive RFID tag. The first and second antennae are situated in respective housings that are spaced apart from each other. An arrangement of first and second electrodes on an electrical sheet of an incontinence pad is also provided.

摘要： An apparatus, system, and method for wireless communication with remote devices that reduce or eliminate interference from zero-mean noise and deterministic signals within the operating system frequency band are provided. An interrogator uses dithering of the initiation time of sequential transmitted signals or sets of transmitted signals with synchronous accumulation of the resulting received signals to reduce the relative strength of interfering signals while increasing the relative strength of the desired signal. The apparatus, system, and method are particularly advantageous when used to extract identification and/or sensor data from passive wireless sensors and tags.

摘要： When multiple readers for RF transponders have to be placed in close proximity, such as in adjacent lanes of a highway toll barrier, they can be set to operate at different frequencies. When signals from two adjacent ones of the readers interfere, the resulting signal includes interference terms whose frequencies equal the sum of the reader frequencies and the difference between the reader frequencies. To remove such interference terms while passing the desired terms, a tag includes a low-pass or other frequency-selective filter.

摘要： An RFID system has an active tag with one antenna inside, and one outside, an RF-blocking enclosure having a port with a selected shortest dimension. The RFID reader is located outside the enclosure and uses a selected RF read frequency range. The RFID tag simultaneously transmits on a plurality of frequencies corresponding to respective wavelengths smaller than the selected shortest dimension, so that a respective beat frequency is defined between two of the frequencies. The beat frequency is within the selected RF uplink frequency range. The tag transmits a first signal at a first one of the plurality of frequencies using the interior antenna and a second signal at a second, different one of the plurality of frequencies using the exterior antenna.

摘要： A method for card-reading anti-collision with automatic frequency hopping is provided, which is used for a system in which a card reader simultaneously reads a plurality of cards in radio frequency identification technologies. The method comprises: both the card reader and the cards to be read are configured to have an automatic frequency-sweep function and a function of hopping from a current channel to another channel, and to store access addresses and transaction addresses; when the card reader is in a frequency-hopping card-seeking state, it is in an n-channel frequency-hopping working state, in which, the access address of each channel is the same, and the card reader reads the cards by means of hopping frequencies in a sequence iteratively through n channels. When the card reader detects that two or more cards collide, the card reader sends a command of random frequency hopping, making all the conflicting cards to hop to other channels randomly and to wait to access those channels. The beneficial effects of said method includes: it can quickly realize a card-reading anti-collision mechanism and improve the card-reading speed.
