    • An outlet or multi-outlet power strip device for interrupting standby power is provided that includes at least one standby power shut-off unit, which is provided correspondingly to at least one receptacle outlet and either supplies or shuts off power to an electronic product connected to the at least one receptacle outlet depending on the status of the electronic product; an outlet power supply, which receives power from the at least one standby power shut-off unit, and converts and supplies the input power to the outlet; a mode selector, to which a selected mode on whether the outlet should be operated in independent mode or cooperative mode is input; and a controller, which sets a standby current of the electronic product, detects the power status of the electronic product by using the set standby current, and controls the at least one standby power shut-off unit according to the detected power status.

    • A slit is formed in a plunger of a limit switch in such a manner that an amount of light incident on a light receiving element is changed in accordance with displacement of the plunger. The limit switch is provided with a setting processing unit (123) for setting a voltage value outputted from the light receiving element as a threshold value when a setting instruction is inputted in a state where the plunger is displaced to a designated position by a user, a position detecting unit (113) for performing detection processing of detecting whether or not the plunger is placed at a closer position to a reference position than to the designated position by comparing the set threshold value and the voltage value outputted from the light receiving element, and an output signal controlling unit (119) for outputting a signal based on a result of the detection processing. Thereby, the switch for outputting the signal in accordance with a position of a displacement member, the switch being capable of easily outputting the signal in accordance with a desired position of the displacement member without need for an adjusting screw can be provided.

    • A mechanical force switch to be disposed along a longitudinal device axis of a medical device includes an electrically conductive switching piston to form a first electrical contact of the switch, a hollow body, an end stop, a bias device, and an electrically conductive second contact of the switch electrically insulated from the piston. The piston is movably disposed in the body hollow along the axis to define different switch-making and -breaking positions. The piston is also movably disposed in a cavity of the stop and the stop is disposed in the body. The stop can be a smooth or threaded puck. The bias device surrounds the piston and imparts bias against it to retain it in one of the two positions until an external axis force overcomes the bias, at which time the switch indicates a state changeover. The switch can be normally open or closed.
