    • The proposed system has a plurality of generator systems, each generator system having an alternating current generator directly connected to a rectifier. The alternating current generator is rotationally coupled to a prime mover, wherein, upon operation of the prime mover, the alternating current generator produces an alternating current output , is de-synchronized to further ones of the plurality of generator systems and has a variable generator speed. The rectifier directly connected the alternating current generator is adapted to convert the alternating current output of the alternating current generator into a direct current output. A direct current distribution bus is coupled to the direct current outputs from each of the rectifiers. The system further has a plurality of inverters adapted to receive power from the direct current distribution bus, the output of each inverter being adapted to drive an alternating current motor.

    • A power generator includes a magnetic pole rotor in which a plurality of N magnetic pole cores and S magnetic pole cores are arranged alternately at regular intervals and that is rotatably supported, stator coils that oppose the magnetic pole rotor and are wound round pole portions of poles of stator poles so as to generate AC power, full-wave rectifying circuits 18 for respective stator coils, and smoothing circuits that are connected to the output sides of the respective full-wave rectifying circuits. The power generator is so structured as to convert multiphase AC generated electric power into DC electric power. Further, line ends of positive (+) poles at the output side of the smoothing circuits are connected to the input side of rectifiers that make only current in the forward direction pass through, and the output side (+) line ends of the rectifiers are connected to a (+) combination line.

    • An apparatus includes a vehicular electric power generation system comprising a variable speed internal combustion engine, a first variable speed electric power generator driven by the engine, a second variable speed electric power generator driven by the engine, a first inverter to receive electric power from the first generator a provide a first controlled electric output, a second inverter to receive electric power from the second generator and provide a second controlled electric output, and a controller coupled to the engine. The controller is responsive to variation in electrical loading of the first inverter and the second inverter and a degree of electrical load imbalance between the first inverter and second inverter to provide an engine control signal. The engine is responsive to the one more engine control signals to change rotational operating speed to adjust for the variation in electrical loading and the degree of electrical load imbalance.
