    • A driving tool and a head valve assembly for a driving tool. The head valve assembly may include an end cap, a seal bushing received within the end cap, a movable member slidably movable with respect to the seal bushing between a first position and a second position, and a flexible membrane configured to bias the movable member towards the first position. The seal bushing cooperates with the end cap to define a first cavity and a vent path fluidly connected to the first cavity. The vent path is substantially unobstructed when the movable member is in the first position, and the vent path is sealed by a sealing portion of the movable member when the movable member is in the second position.

    • The present invention is directed to a combustion-operated setting device for driving fastening elements such as nails, bolts and pins into a substrate, with a combustion chamber (12) that has at least one combustion chamber outlet (13) in which a fuel gas mixture can be ignited for driving a driving piston (16) guided in a piston guide (17), and with a locking and unlocking mechanism (20) for unlocking the at least one combustion chamber outlet (13) in the starting position (31) of the driving piston (16) and for locking the at least one combustion chamber outlet (13) outside of the starting position (31) of the driving piston (16). The locking and unlocking mechanism (20) has a magnet (21) for detecting the driving piston (16) in the starting position (31).

    • A combustion-powered, fastener-driving tool comprises a structure defining a combustion chamber and defining a driving piston cylinder, which has a wall and defines an axis. A nosepiece is mounted to said structure and communicates with the driving piston cylinder. A driving piston mounting a driving member is arranged to be axially driven within the wall of the driving piston cylinder upon combustion of a fuel in the combustion chamber, so as to drive the driving member from an uppermost position wherein the driving member is retracted from the nosepiece into a lowermost position wherein the driving member is extended into the nosepiece. A combusted gases-actuated mechanism is employed for feeding fasteners from a collated strip of fasteners individually and successively into the nosepiece. Combusted gases are diverted from the driving piston cylinder so as to actuate the feeding mechanism when the driving piston is driven. Combusted gases are taken in through the wall of the driving piston cylinder, at a location between the uppermost position of the driving piston and the position of the driving piston when combusted gases are exhausted through one or more ports in the wall of the driving piston cylinder.
