    • A bobbin thread winding apparatus which can reliably twine a bobbin thread around the bobbin within the bobbin case. With the reliable twining of the thread, the thread is not cut and also will never be forced out of the bobbin case, thereby forming a good seam. Since the thread is not wound around a shaft other than the bobbin shaft, no manual operation is required for resetting the thread to the clamping mechanism, improving the reliability of the bobbin thread winding apparatus. The bobbin thread winding apparatus can accurately detect an effective thread winding amount of the bobbin thread irrespective of the yarn count of the thread used, and does not apply an excessive load to the thread winding mechanism, causing any adverse effect on the stitching quality. The bobbin thread winding apparatus allows a lower thread to be drawn out of the thread supply source and is then securely twisted around the bobbin shaft without a thread draw-out mechanism. Without the need to forcibly draw out the lower thread out of the thread supply source, the cost to manufacture the apparatus is reduced and its reliability is increased.

    • A sewing machine that suppresses sewing defects is provided. The sewing machine includes: a sewing needing, held by a needle bar and moving back and forth while holding an upper thread: a shuttle, configured to hold a bobbin which is housed in a bobbin case and around which a lower thread is wound, and cooperating with the sewing needle to form a seam; a presser foot member, configured to press a to-be-sewn article at a sewing position directly below the sewing needle: a pressure adjustment portion, adjusting pressure applied to the to-be-sewn article by the presser foot member; a feeding mechanism, where endless feeding belts for feeding the to-be-sewn article from the sewing position to a first direction are disposed on two sides of a second direction orthogonal to a first direction with respect to the sewing position, the feeding mechanism is provided with a belt drive portion, and the belt drive portion independently drives the feeding belts on one side of the second direction with respect to the sewing position and the feeding belts on another side of the second direction with respect to the sewing position; and a control portion, configured to control the pressure adjustment portion to make a pressure of the presser foot member be corresponding to a difference between a feeding amount of the feeding belts on one side of the second direction with respect to the sewing position and a feeding amount of the feeding belts on another side of the second direction with respect to the sewing position.

    • Transfer mechanism (20) is provided for reciprocally transferring a bobbin grasping device (10), grasping a bobbin case (B) at the distal end of a chuck section (11), between a rotary hook (6) of a sewing machine and a bobbin stock section (8). First cam plate (31) is provided adjacent to one end for orienting the chuck section (11) toward the rotary hook (6) during the transfer, while a second cam plate (41) is provided adjacent to the other end for orienting the chuck section (11) toward the bobbin stock section (8) during the transfer. The cam plates (31, 41) are detachable from the transfer mechanism (20), and, in transportation of the machine, one of the cam plates is transported as an attachment to a main sewing table, while the other plate is transported as an attachment to an extension sewing table. The bobbin grasping device (10) includes a moving body section (13), chuck section (11), and a spring member (19) for normally biasing the chuck section toward a predetermined neutral position.
