At least one among constricting power-strengthened knitted fabrics is larger in runner of yarn than main knitted fabric. Constricting power of knitted fabric exceeds twice of main knitted fabric and integrally continuously knitted. A part having intermediate constricting power is provided between the power- strengthening knitted part 2 and the main knitted fabric part and the constricting power can stepwisely be strengthened by controlling runner of yarn. The main knitted fabric and hem having large power difference can be integrated and can as necessary be knitted as multi-power hem. The knitted fabric is suitable for inner wears and sport wears.

Since initial power to the rotating slide moving body operated to the stroke setting bodies D to F is rotating motion, sliding places are eliminated and abrasion is not generated between a pressing body and the stroke setting bodies and accuracy of moving amount is improved and occurrence of accident is prevented.

The first element is also attached at at least two points to a second ribbon- or cord-shaped element such that the overlapping portion of one of the elements is longer than that of the other element. A rigid lamina is provided attached to the larger overlapping portion to engage the front edge of the fabric sleeve, thereby securing the fabric in the gathered position.
