A method for sealing a housing includes providing a base plate of the housing with at least one opening; providing an electrical connection that extends through the base plate from an inner side to an outer side of the base plate; and applying a sealing compound into the opening from an outer side of the base plate in order to seal an interface between the base plate and the electrical connection.
US08006368B2 Process and apparatus for making an injection molded vial
A process for forming a vial consisting of a tube, an insert secured within the tube, and a cap secured to the tube, which includes injection molding of the insert, removing the insert from the injection molding machine and placing it over a pin on a moving pallet by use of a manipulator, injection molding of the tube by a separate injection molding machine and moving the injection molded tube to a position where it is placed over the insert on the moving pallet by use of a manipulator, wherein a cap for the tube is formed at a separate injection molding machine where the cap is secured to the tube, wherein the joined tube with insert and cap are moved to a cap closing station wherein, after closing of the cap onto the tube, the assembled vial is inspected, tested and packaged.
US08006361B2 Installation tool for use with a liner sleeve attachment
An installation tool for use with a liner sleeve attachment, such as a nutplate assembly for mounting onto a substrate blind side as disclosed in U.S. Pat. No. 5,704,747. The installation tool includes retractable grip jaws for gripping and pulling a fixture pin protruding from the attachment, for initially advancing a tapered tool nose piece into deforming engagement with an attachment liner sleeve leading end to flare and/or expand the liner sleeve to lock the liner sleeve onto the substrate. Continued pulling action exerts a sufficient force to collapse a fixture pin head and thereby permit pull-removal of the fixture pin from the attachment. The nose piece is carried by a retractable inner housing normally retained in an advanced position for deforming the liner sleeve, and thereafter movable to a retracted position spaced from the liner sleeve to accommodate substantially unobstructed fixture pin separation from the attachment.
US08006359B2 Machine tool for processing tooth formations of workpieces
A machine tool for processing tooth formations of workpieces, includes a rotary holder which can be rotated about a main axis A, two workpiece spindles which are arranged on the rotary holder, with the workpiece spindles having spindle axes (Sa, Sb) which are orientated parallel with the main axis A, in particular with the workpiece spindles being arranged symmetrically about the main axis A, and a tool holder for a tool for processing a workpiece on one of the workpiece spindles, is characterized in that the main axis A of the rotary holder extends horizontally. With this machine tool, contamination of the rotary holder and tool spindles by removed chips can be reduced and the structural complexity for a relative feed movement of the tool with respect to the workpiece parallel with the spindle axes can be reduced.
US08006357B2 Process for fabricating piezoelectric element
In a production method of a piezoelectric element, an unneeded electric field is prevented from being applied to a piezoelectric thin film layer during the production process, resulting in a high performance piezoelectric element production method. The production method includes a first process for depositing an under electrode layer, a piezoelectric thin film layer and an upper electrode layer successively on a substrate such that the under electrode layer and the upper electrode layer form a short-circuit, a second process, after the first process, for etching including dry etching, the second process commenced while the under electrode layer and the upper electrode layer are short-circuited, a third process, after the second process, for polarizing by applying a voltage across the under electrode layer and the upper electrode layer, a fourth process, after the third process, for individualizing each piezoelectric element.
US08006339B1 Prefabricated articulating pier cap
The present disclosure provides a support structure for a transportation passageway supported by a column. The support structure includes a bearing, a bracket and a cap. The bearing includes an anchor, a bracket base, and a bearing axis of rotation. The anchor is shaped to fix the bearing to the column. The bracket includes a column face and an arcuate face. The column face is shaped to rotate about the bearing axis of rotation relative to the bracket face of the bearing. The cap includes a top and a bottom wherein the top includes at least one beam support and the bottom includes an arcuate bottom portion.
