摘要： A warming blanket (20) having a temperature sensing element (28) for sensing the temperature of the warming blanket (20). The temperature sensor (28) may be a positive temperature coefficient (PTC) element that is threadedthroughout the blanket (20). In one embodiment, the temperature sensing element (28) runs perpendicular or transverse to the heating wires in the warming blanket (20), permitting the temperature sensing element (28) to measure an average blanket temperature. In another embodiment, the heating element (24) is supplied as a pair of bus wires (302, 304) extending along opposite sides of the warming blanket (20) and having a number of heating wires (324) extending therebetween. In this embodiment, the temperature sensing elements (28) may run either parallel to or transverse to the heating elements (24). Temperature changes/signals in the temperature sensing element (28) are sent to a microprocessor (53), which in turn changes the wattage of the heating elements (24) to prevent overheating of the warming blanket (20).
