    • A work holder support arm for supporting a work article at a desired orientation with respect to a support structure is provided with a first clamp (12) having clamped and unclamped states for coupling with the support structure. Additionally, a second clamp (11) couples with the work article and has clamped and unclamped states. A tube portion (14) is coupled to the second clamp (11) for accommodating telescopically therewithin the first shaft portion (27). An expansion portion (30) is arranged coaxially with the shaft portion (27) within the tube portion (14) and is provided with a threaded section. The expansion portion (30) and the shaft portion (27) have corresponding transverse ramps (34, 35) arranged to communicate with each other.

    • In order to secure a body (16) in a predetermined position a multi-­jointed arm is required, the body (16) being applied in the free end (3) of the arm, the other end (1) of the arm being firmly secured and the joints being locked with the aid of screw joints when said body (16) has been positioned as desired. This is difficult to achieve since it is difficult to adjust the screw joint accurately. Furthermore, it is difficult to make screw joints sufficiently resistant to torsional forces. These drawbacks are eliminated according to the invention by applying hydraulic pressure on at least one (35) of two cooperating surfaces (34 and 35) by means of a pressure medium.

    • An adjustable clamp for holding objects securely in position comprising at least one arm (1) which exhibits one articulated arrangement (4, 5) arranged at each of the two ends of the arm. Said articulated arrangement exhibits two pivot pins (6, 8, 7, 9) arranged at an angle to each other. The object (36) is held securely by means of a clamping arrangement attached to the articulated arrangement. Each articulated device (4, 5) exhibits, free to move in relation to the arm (1), an articulated body (15) with a curved articulated surface (16) which is in contact with and is so arranged as to move relative to a corresponding curved articulated surface (17) in an articulated component (12) attached to the ends (2, 3) of the arm.
