The high-power assembled battery is capable of charge and discharge with a current relatively larger than that in the high-capacity assembled battery, and the high-capacity assembled battery has an energy capacity relatively larger than that of the high-power assembled battery. In running of the vehicle using an output from the motor with the engine stopped, the high-capacity assembled battery supplies a more electric power to the motor than that in the high-power assembled battery. The high-power assembled battery is placed in a riding space where a passenger rides, and the high-capacity assembled battery is placed in a luggage space different from the riding space.

摘要： A source of environmental pollution is the burning of fuel by the transportation vehicles (e.g., cars, trucks). The use of electric vehicles (EVs) is perceived as an essential step towards better utilization of energy. Current EVs make use of an electric engine and a battery pack that provides energy to that engine. The technology of electric engines is well developed because of the common use of such engines in trains, submarines and industrial facilities. But, while the battery packs used in EVs have made a lot of progress in the last couple of years, these battery packs still have problems. These battery packs are expansive, heavy, and limited in the amount of energy that they can provide. This obstacle is a major factor that limits the use of EVs today in the mass market. Described herein is an improved EV battery pack system.

摘要： A computer system includes a processor device configured to determine battery current of each battery pack of a plurality of parallelly connected battery packs of an energy storage system of a vehicle, determine a system current for all of the plurality of parallelly connected battery packs in the energy storage system, compare the determined battery current with a predetermined battery pack overcurrent threshold for each one of the battery packs, and comparing the determined system current with a system overcurrent threshold, activate an overcurrent fuse of an associated battery pack in response to the determined battery current of the associated battery pack being higher than the battery pack overcurrent threshold, and to activate the overcurrent fuse of at least one of the same battery packs in response to the determined system current being higher than the system overcurrent threshold.
