摘要： A device for laying dust contained in a flow of bulk product during transfer thereof includes a divergent cone onto whose outside surface the product is directed from a feed pipe to form a tubular layer of product. A mounting device holds the cone in the flow of product leaving the feed pipe and at least one device fixed to the mounting device sprays a moistening liquid to moisten the inside envelope of the layer of product. The spray device has at least one central nozzle in a spray moistening area downstream of the cone to moisten the part of the inside envelope of the product layer downstream of the cone. The structure of the device is such that the thickness of the tubular layer of the flow of product can be freely chosen at least until the flow leaves the area, the layer thereafter retaining its hollow annular shape. Applications include laying dust contained in grain when it is transferred into cells of a storage silo.

摘要： Spray apparatus for applying a fixative liquid chemical to freshly loaded railway coal cars includes a pivoting boom mounted atop a column. The column is both rotatable, to enable avoiding encroaching on a railway right of way, and vertically adjustable, to accommodate cars loaded to different heights. Boom pivot and column vertical movement are powered. Three rows of spray nozzles are supported from the boom. Each nozzle has its own valve. A first row of nozzles sprays the frontal, inclined surface of heaped coal. A second row sprays the main body of heaped coal, and a third row sprays the rearward, inclined surface. Photoresponsive sensors initiate spray signals, which are conditioned by timers. Progress of a railway car past these sensors initiates spray signals, which are suitably delayed, then discontinued, by timers. Total spray time for any one car is limited by an additional timer. Train speed is gauged by an observer, after which timing functions are determined to spray each car appropriately. A combination of boom pivoting and column vertical adjustment assures that the nozzles are centered over the railway car. The column comprises concentric members fitted at close tolerance to reduce cumulative play which would otherwise throw the nozzles off center. Method of use including a preferred sequence of operation is included.

Carrier and guide can be carriage mounted on rails, or telescoping ram arrangement to provide extendable mount for hoeing assembly which increases reach thereof without requiring excessively long arms, and also facilitates operation of hoeing assembly for drawing material onto the hopper. Operator is positioned at front of vehicle for good visibility during operation of hoeing assembly. Conveyor assembly is supported on releasable hinge means at front end, and on elevating cylinders adjacent rear end and can be easily removed to service conveyor belt.

摘要： Apparatus for precipitating dust from a region surrounding an area from which dust emanates. The apparatus includes a fluid supply conduit for carrying water under pressure to the region adjacent the dust, area, a proportioning pump for injecting a preselected quantity of a surfactant into the water, and nozzles on the conduit adjacent the dust emanating region. The mixture of water and surfactant is atomized and sprayed from the nozzles in a curtain of finely dispersed spray, or fog, adjacent the dust region. The substantially continuous curtain of finely dispersed spray surrounding the dust region acts to precipitate dust particles from the air. The mixture of a surfactant with the water allows the water to easily wet the dust particles, whereby smaller quantities of water may be used with improved dust precipitation occurring.
