    • The invention relates to a lifting cushion (20) that is wedge-shaped and is formed by a top part (1) and a bottom part (2) with connecting walls (3-33) , and which is arranged to be tillable with fluid, e.g., air, gas or liquid. The top part (1) and the bottom part (2) are joined to a common unit (21) in the forward edge (4) of the cushion, and said forward edge (4) is extended in relation to the front wall (3) of the lifting cushion and forms thereby a thin fore extended part (21) in front of said front wall (3) and that is active during the insertion but passive during operation. Said fore part (21) of the wedge-shaped lifting cushion is arranged in such a way that when the lifting cushion (20) is filled with fluid, the fore extended top part (1) and the bottom part (2) are expanded without preventing the fore wall (3) of the lifting cushion from smoothing out and forming the fore part of the lifting cushion in a filled state.

    • The present invention is directed to a jack (100) preferably comprising: a platform (102); a jack arm stabilizer guide (104) having a first and a second terminal end, the first terminal end being attached to the platform; a jack arm (106); a jack arm stabilizer (108) attached near the first terminal end of the jack arm, and the jack arm stabilizer is preferably slidably connected to the jack arm stabilizer guide (104) so as to allow the jack arm stabilizer (108) to be translocatable between the first and the second terminal ends of the jack arm stabilizer guide; and a vertical lift system (110) operatively connected between the jack arm and the platform which is capable of vertically lifting the jack arm (106), thus translocating the jack arm stabilizer (108) within the jack arm stabilizer guide. The vertical lift system (110) preferably comprises a bellow (602) connected between the platform and the jack arm, wherein the bellow is capable of being inflated causing it to vertically expand, thereby lifting the jack arm (106) and translocating the jack arm stabilizer (108) between the first and the second terminal ends of the jack arm stabilizer guide. The jack preferably further comprises a lock and release system (316, 210, 212) to prevent the jack arm from descending subsequent to the jack arm (106) having been lifted by the vertical lift system (110).

    • A lifting cushion includes an inflatable envelope (64), a first layer (4) and a second layer (6). The envelope (64) includes two rectangular sheets (66 and 68) which are connected by a plurality of cell structures (72), the sheets (66 and 68) and the cell structures (72) being made of polyaramid cord. Each cell structure (72) consists of two opposed generally U-shaped half-cell members (74 and 76). The two half-cell members (74 and 76) of each cell structure (72) are threaded through adjacent slits (78) in the sheets (66 and 68) so that the end arms (80 and 82) of the two half-cell members extend towards one another to leave a small gap (84) therebetween. The first layer (4) is wrapped around the envelope (64), and the second layer (6) is wrapped around the first layer (4) at 90 DEG to the direction of the first layer (4). The envelope (64) and the first and second layers (4 and 6) are heated, compressed and hot vulcanized to secure these components to one another during manufacture of the lifting cushion.

    • The invention relates to a vacuum hoisting device of the kind having a vertically suspended lifting tube (4), which is extensible and contractible in dependence on the air pressure in the lifting tube, and which at its lower part is provided with a suction device (6) in the shape of one or more suction cups. Up to now a valve at the suction device is used for manoeuvering the suction device, which valve when closed brings a vacuum source (7, 20) to work with a constant suction capacity to decrease the pressure in the lifting tube such that an object (32) to be lifted is attached by the suction after which the lifting tube is contracted such that the object is lifted. To limit the lifting height and to lower and release the object it has been necessary to partially open the valve and permit a restricted inlet of air and at last completely open the valve resulting in a large comsumption of air. According to the invention there is instead a valve (14, 23) arranged to control the suction capacity of the vacuum source in direct dependence of the desired air pressure in the lifting tube (4).

    • A method of lifting storage tanks by using pressurized bags (12) and support members (22). Lifting the tank allows for visual inspection under the tank for corrosion to prevent leakage of environmentally hazardous chemicals stored in the tank. The lifting bags (12) are placed under the tank (10), inflated, and support timbers (22) placed under the raised tank. The bags are then deflated allowing the tank to rest on the support timbers. The deflated bags raised by placing support timbers under the bags. The bags are again pressurized further raising the tank. The steps are repeated until the tank is lifted to the desired height. Ground suction is broken by raising one side of the tank with the lifting bags, placing supports as far as possible under the tank rim and depressurizing the bags to rock the other side of the tank off the ground. A fulcrum method is also applied to use the partial weight of the tank as a leverage force to alternately raise opposite sides of the tank.

    • The inflatable jack consists of an air jack, extension hose, built-in car compressor and an air tank. Optionally, impact lug nut gun and tire gauge can be provided with the system. The air jack consists of two parts, flexible rubber bag, base and top plates which are made out of solid plastic to keep the jack intact and free from getting damaged. The air compressor and air tank are attached to the car and it draws power from the car battery itself. The air jack is able to withstand the weight of the car and it does not move from its location due to the solid plastic plate with a top rubber surface. There will be a button on the dashboard which upon pressing will turn on the compressor, which in turn fills up the air tank and releases the air into the jack. The air drain valve available on the air jack will let it deflate flat and it can then be placed in the trunk.
