    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous ink for inkjet recording, which can achieve superior ink-ejecting properties, coloring properties and image stability.
      SOLUTION: A pigment dispersion comprises components A and B, wherein: A is an azo pigment which is represented by the formula or the like and has at least one X-ray diffraction peak characteristic to each of Bragg angle (2θ) ranges of 5-15° and 20-30° in CuKα characteristic X-ray diffraction, a tautomer of the azo pigment, or a salt or hydrate of the azo pigment or the tautomer; and B is a vinyl polymer containing a specific constituent unit, a constituent unit derived from (a) a monomer having a salt-generating group and a constituent unit derived from a monomer selected from (b) a styrene macromer and (c) a hydrophobic monomer (wherein, the terminal of the main chain of the water-insoluble vinyl polymer has at least either of two or more hydroxyl groups and at least one carboxyl group).
