    • A magnet unit includes a first magnetic pole (7a), a second magnetic pole (7b) and a third magnetic pole (7c) at a center between the first magnetic pole (7a) and the second magnetic pole (7b), providing an E-shaped configuration. In the magnet unit, a first magnet is defined between the first magnetic pole (7a) and the third magnetic pole (7c) by connecting two electromagnets (71aa, 73aa) with each other through a permanent magnet (72a), while a second magnet is defined between the second magnetic pole (7b) and the third magnetic pole (7c) by connecting two electromagnets (71ba, 73ba) with each other through a permanent magnet (72b). With this configuration, it is possible to reduce a deviation in the length of respective magnetic paths from the permanent magnets (72a, 72b) up to their respective magnetic poles. By controlling exciting currents to the respective electromagnets (71aa, 73aa, 71ba, 73ba), it is also possible to adjust fluxes (or flux density) in respective directions x, y individually.

    • Standard attachment fittings for wire rope and chain (WR&C) that are enhanced to also perform load weighing functions in lifting/support or pulling assembly applications. The existing unmodified shape of each typical WR&C fitting provides focused linear strain under tensile or compression loading at determinable points on the fitting body. Affixing a strain gauge element to any of these points will enable accurate load weight measurement eliminating the need for a separate weigh scale and a “thin section” typically required in load sensors to focus load strain and achieve accurate load weight readings. The invention addresses increased WR&C fitting assembly simplicity, preserved structural integrity, improved assembly compactness, reduced cost, enhanced safety and maintenance of the original application functions of the standard attachment fittings while enhancing the said fittings with weighing function capability.

    • Apparatus for measuring weight, level and or volume of a volatile liquid in a sealed container, comprising: a housing, capable of sustaining high pressure; a load cell, located within the pressure housing, mounted on an external pipe flange at the top of a sealed container having known cross section and containing a liquid of a known specific gravity; a displacer weight of known weight and length passing through the pipe flange opening and suspended above the bottom of the container. The apparatus, operating on the inferential method of determining liquid quantity by weight in a sealed vessel, works on the principle that when there is no liquid in the tank, the load-cell and its meter system sense the maximum weight of a displacer cylinder which is the null or "Zero" point for measurement. The buoyancy of the displacer weight in the liquid then reflects the volume in the container via a meter/computer display.
