    • A Doherty amplifier is described which comprises: a power splitter (120) having a first output and a second output, wherein the first output is connected to a main power splitter (392) having first and second outputs which differ in phase by 90°; and the second output is connected to an auxiliary power splitter (342) having first and second outputs which differ in phase by 90°; a main final stage amplifier (234) comprising first (324) and second (325) main paired amplifiers, the inputs of which are connected to the first and second outputs of the main power splitter (352); an auxiliary final stage amplifier (244) comprising first (344) and second auxiliary (345) paired amplifiers, the inputs of which are connected to the first and second outputs of the auxiliary power splitter (342); wherein the output from the first main paired amplifier (334) is connected to the output from the first auxiliary paired amplifier (344) by an impedance inverter (250); and the output from the second main paired amplifier (345) is connected to the output from the second auxiliary paired amplifier by an impedance inverter (251); the amplifier being arranged such that a relative phase shift is introduced to the signals input to the main and auxiliary power splitters to offset the phase shift of the impedance inverters.

    • PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for balanced power amplification are provided to offer a 90-degree hybrid splitter and a 90-degree hybrid combiner using at least one quarter-wave transmission line, thereby improving the efficiency of wireless power transmission. CONSTITUTION: An amplifier (600) comprises a 90-degree hybrid splitter (620), a first power amplifier (PA) (630), a second PA (640), and a 90-degree hybrid combiner (650). The 90-degree hybrid splitter divides an input signal into a first PA input signal and a second PA input signal which have 90-degree phase difference. The first PA amplifies the first PA input signal to generate a first PA output signal. The second PA amplifies the second PA input signal to generate a second PA output signal. The 90-degree hybrid combiner combines the first and second output signals having 90-degree phase difference of to generate an output signal.     • PURPOSE: A multiport amplifying device in a communications system and a method thereof are provided to normally transmit and receive signals being transmitted through multiple beams. CONSTITUTION: A multiport amplifying device comprises amplifying parts (420,422), an calculating part (430), and a correcting part (410). The amplifying part amplifies an input signal inputted through the multiple input ports for outputting the amplified signals to multiple output ports. The amplifying part amplifies the input signal in which phase errors or amplitude errors are corrected for outputting to the multiple output ports. The calculating part detects the phase errors or amplitude errors of the input signal for calculating the phase error value or amplitude error value of the input signal. The correcting part corrects the phase errors or amplitude errors of the input signal through the phase error value or amplitude error value of the input signal.
