摘要： A chainguard is disclosed for fully enclosing a bicycle chain on a bicycle having a front sprocket and a rear sprocket. The chainguard includes inside and outside covers extending from the front sprocket to the rear sprocket. The inside cover is formed as a hinged structure having top and bottom halves which may be pivoted together once the inside cover is in position extending around the bicycle crank and the rear axle. After the inside cover is in position, the outside cover may be moved into engagement with the inside cover whereby the top and bottom halves of the inside cover are secured together and the bicycle chain is fully enclosed.

摘要： A self-contained housing for the drive chain of a conventional chain-driven motorcycle comprising a front section, enclosing the motorcycle drive sprocket and a portion of the drive chain, and a rear section, enclosing the rear wheel sprocket and the remaining portion of the chain, both sections being joined together by a flexible coupling to form a single, integrated unit. Sealing interfaces are provided where the housing mates with the motorcycle transmission case and the rear wheel hub to prevent contaminants from entering the housing and also to prevent leakage of a pool of lubricating oil that is maintained within the housing to continuously lubricate the drive chain and sprocket. The forward end of the housing is reinforced to prevent the chain from flying loose and causing injury to the motorcycle operator or damage to the engine casing should the chain break while it is in motion.

The right crank arm portion has an inner end integrally formed with the axle portion. The right crank arm portion has an outer end with a pedal mounting arrangement. The axle portion has a first end that is integrally formed with the right crank arm portion and a second end with a crank arm mounting arrangement. The axle portion has external threads disposed between the first and second ends of the axle portion. Thus, a portion of a bottom bracket is partially integrated into the bicycle chain wheel structure. Preferably, the chain guard is integrated into the right crank arm as a one-piece, unitary member. This arrangement reduces parts and manufacturing costs of the bicycle chain wheel structure.

These cuts accommodate the fitting of this back elevational side about both the rear axle and the pedal axle, and alongside the drive chain and the sprocket of a bicycle. After the fitting of this back elevational side about a rear axle and a pedal axle, Velcro fastener portions are used to keep the access cuts closed together when this cover is in use. A front side, which is continuous throughout, is thereafter secured to the back elevational side, where not previously initially sewn together to make this cover, by using components of Velcro fasteners. Preferably a Velcro strap is used to keep a rear bicycle wheel from rotating, as this Velcro strap of this cover is passed around a spoke of a bicycle wheel.
