    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a freight car of a type running on rails which can pull down a welded rail of particularly long length without any problems even in the case of being not supported on rollers. SOLUTION: This freight car 1 is provided with a freight car frame 6 supported with a carriage 5 on track, and a rail pulling device 4 holding a long welded rail 3 and displacing the rail 3 in the lengthwise direction of the freight car 1, and it runs on rails so as to pull out a long welded rail housed in a transport freight car 2. The rail pulling device 4 is a crawler track 7 provided with a drive body 11, and it is constituted of the crawler track 7 designed so as to be guided around two pulleys spacedly from each other. The crawler track 7 is provided with contact plates arranged so that one is in rear of the other in the pulling direction capably of acting on the long welded rail 3, and supporting base parts 8 designed so as to be adjustable against the crawler track 7 by a drive body 23 and rollable on the long welded rail 3.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the unloading process of a rail by forming notches having guide rollers placed between bogie cars for passing and guiding the rail by a car frame. SOLUTION: Two notches 16 are formed for passing and guiding a long rail 17 between bogie cars 3 between a rail 9 and a car frame 4. The long rail 17 is juxtaposed and borne on a carrying roller 35 in a passage 34. A crane 12 is made to travel, and a gripper 14 is engaged at the end section of the rail 17. A unit 21 is lowered by driving devices 25, 26. The gripper 14 is engaged at the end section of the rail 17 again at the rear of the unit 21. The ending line of the rail 17 is subject to the effect of a slewing driving device, and insertion and passage into a second unit 21 is assisted. The gripper 14 is detached, an unloading car 1 is made to travel in the direction of the arrow, and the rail 17 is pushed and displaced on a succeeding cart automatically through another device 36. Accordingly, equipments need not be replaced, and quick usability can be ensured.
