    • The present invention relates to relates to an improvement of a dividing wall for a primary pulley in a belt-type continuously variable transmission. It is an object of the present invention to obtain a desired strength characteristic without performing a soft nitriding treatment and achieve cost reduction. A hydraulic pressure chamber is formed between the dividing wall and the movable sheave, and the dividing wall comprises a small-diameter annular disc portion 32 extended from the central cylinder portion 30, which is attached to a rotational shaft, in a radial direction. In the small-diameter annular disc portion 32, a connecting portion which is connected to an intermediate body portion 34 is a bent portion 38 which is bent at substantially 90 [deg]. In a cross-section of an inner peripheral surface of the bent portion 38, the inner peripheral surface of the bent portion 38 is constituted by an inner radius side arc 40-1 whose origin position is O1 and curvature radius is R1, an outer radius side arc 40-2 whose origin position is O2, which is a different position from the origin position O1 of the inner radius side arc 40-1, and curvature radius is R2, which is a different value from the curvature radius R1 of the inner radius side arc 40-1, and an intermediate portion 40-3 that the inner radius side arc 40-1 is smoothly connected to the outer radius side arc 40-2. By adopting the above shape, when a load is applied to the dividing wall, a stress value at a concave surface 40 can be reduced, and desired durability can be obtained without performing the soft nitriding treatment and achieve cost reduction.

    • A V-pulley includes a pulley body having a through hole provided at the center. Wheels are connected on the pulley body. An outer wheel is provided at each of two ends of the pulley body. Coaxial annular gears and annular inner wheels are alternately arranged between the two outer wheels. The diameter of a gear is less than that of an inner wheel. The outer wheels, the gears, and the inner wheels are fixedly connected through a connecting structure. The outer circumferential surfaces of the gears have meshing teeth disposed at an interval in a convex-concave manner. Two adjacent wheels and a gear between them form a V-belt groove. The opposite end surfaces of the two adjacent wheels form friction transmission belt groove side surfaces. The gear between the two adjacent wheels forms a mesh transmission gear. The belt groove side surfaces are inclined smooth surfaces.

    • The apparatus of the present invention provides an improved pulley assembly. The pulley assembly includes a ring portion having a frictional surface and a radially inner ring flange defining a plurality of ring teeth. The pulley assembly also includes a hub integrally formed onto the ring portion. The hub has a peripheral hub flange that includes a top portion and a bottom portion configured to trap the ring flange therebetween. The hub flange is also configured to engage the ring teeth and thereby prevent rotation of the hub relative to the ring portion. The ring portion is preferably composed of a first material such as steel or cast iron, and the hub is preferably composed of a second material such as aluminum or magnesium that is lighter by volume than the first material. Accordingly, the overall weight of the pulley assembly is less than that of a comparable pulley assembly composed entirely of steel or cast iron.
