摘要： PURPOSE: To manufacture a high-quality book cover at a high production rate by folding up and folding over an overlay material protruding beyond the leading and tailing edges of a cover board and pressing the folded-over overlay and cover board to a cover unit. CONSTITUTION: A cover unit 1 comprises an overlay member 1a and a cover board 1b which are bound together with an adhesive beforehand and is guided between a support table and a retaining rail to further undergo such a manufacturing process that the overlay material 1a protruding beyond the leading edge of the cover board 1b is folded up, on a wrapping rail 13 along the leading edge lateral face of the cover board 1b, by a driven roller 16 and a control roller 28 running on control rails 29, 41. The wrapping rail 13 folds the overlay material 1a and clamps and retains the cover unit 1 between the wrapping rail 13 itself and a support rail 14. The cover unit 1 enters an area where a tailing edge wrapping system works and a wrapping rail 13' folds up the overlay material 1a protruding beyond the tailing edge of the cover board 1b along the taining edge lateral face of the cover board 1b, with the help of a control roller 28' and a driven roller 16' running on the control rails 29, 37. A wrapping rail 13' folds over the overlay material 1a and clamps and retains the cover unit 1 between the wrapping rail 13' itself and a support rail 14'.
