    • A latching mechanism for joining separable insulated connectors employs a plurality of finger contacts to create an interference fit with an electrode probe of an elbow connector. The electrode probe enters a cylindrical grouping of the plurality of finger contacts and a projection causes an interference fit between the finger contacts and the electrode probe. The finger contacts latch the connectors together and require a removal force greater than the latching force required to latch the connectors. The latching mechanism provides a multi-point current path between an elbow connector and a power transmission or distribution apparatus and provides operator feedback to indicate the latching of the mechanism.

    • A method for directly converting packet-based voice data of two non-compatible formats, (e.g., VoIP and VOATM), is described. A VoIP call agent sets a connection between a VoIP edge gateway and an interworking unit (IWU). The IWU allows the VoATM network to appear as a TDM network to the VoIP call agent. The VoIP call agent selects a virtual trunk group and channel identification code through the interworking unit and transmits the selection to a VoATM call agent. The IWU allows the VoIP network to appear as a TDM network to the VoATM call agent such that the VoATM call agent establishes a connection between the virtual trunk group and a VoATM network device. The IWU allows the VoATM network to appear as a TDM network to the VoIP call agent such that the VoIP call agent establishes a connection between the virtual trunk group and a VoIP network device.

    • The present invention is a system that grids original data, maps the data at the grid locations to height values at corresponding landscape image pixel locations and renders the landscape pixels into a three-dimensional (3D) landscape image. The landscape pixels can have arbitrary shapes and can be augmented with additional 3D information from the original data, such as an offset providing additional information, or generated from processing of the original data, such as to alert when a threshold is exceeded, or added for other purposes such as to point out a feature. The pixels can also convey additional information from the original data using other pixel characteristics such as texture, color, transparency, etc.

The processor then transfers the instruction over a communication network to the second appliance. The processor processes the instruction to determine an action to perform to obtain the data. The processor performs the action to obtain the data if the data is locally accessible to the first appliance.
