The cutting die includes a primary substrate (1) and a plurality of cutting units (2-6) that are removably attachable to the substrate.     • The invention relates to a cutting device for wood or other materials, comprising a saw blade clamping device for fixing circular saw blades radially and/or axially, said circular saw blades being mounted on a drive shaft in such a way that they can be moved axially. The inventive device enables the width of the saw cut to be adjusted without the saw blades having to be disassembled, such disassembly being time and labour consuming. The carrying bodies for the circular saw blades are narrower than conventional moving heads for multiple-blade circular saws, with the result that a larger number of circular saw blades can be mounted on one axle.

    • The invention relates to an apparatus for cutting metal strip comprising first and second rotatable drums (6, 7) with corresponding first and second cutting means arranged side-by-side so that the metal strip may pass between them, the first and second cutting blade means (8, 9) is retractable between a first retracted position in which the strip is permitted to pass freely between the drums (6, 7) whilst they are rotating and a second extended position in which the blade means (8, 9) extends ourwardly from the drum (6, 7) to cut the strip. Axial movement of the actuating rod (21, 22) causes extension followed by retraction of the blade in a single movement of the actuating rod (21, 22) by means of an external surface which undulates along its length.
