    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply manufacture covers, and to easily install the covers on a flush valve by collecting cutout parts for taking out a water supply pipe and a drain pipe of the flush valve into one in the covers composed of two cover members having no longitudinal directionality. SOLUTION: An installing part of an upper cover 3 and a lower cover 2 is formed in line symmetry in the longitudinal direction and the lateral direction of the respective covers 3, 2, and even if the lower cover 2 rotates by 180 degrees, the upper cover 3 can be installed still in its state. Cutouts 76, 77 for forming an opening 60 are respectively arranged on the left side of a front cover 61 and a rear cover 62 of the lower cover 2, and semicircular cutouts for forming an inserting hole for inserting a manual operation member are respectively arranged on the right side. The cutout parts 76, 77 are collected into one, and taking-out of a water supply pipe 56 and a drain pipe 57 is formed as a single opening 60 to thereby simply manufacture the front/rear covers 61, 62 of the lower cover 2 as well as to easily install the covers on a valve body part 17.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cope with either installing direction of right water supply and left water supply by rearranging a front face of an upper cover by forming installing parts of upper/lower covers in line symmetry in the longitudinal direction and the lateral direction of the respective covers in the covers composed of an upper cover having longitudinal directionality and a lower cover having no directionality. SOLUTION: Respective installing parts of an upper cover 3 having longitudinal directionality and a lower cover 2 having no directionality are formed in line symmetry in the longitudinal direction and the lateral direction of the respective covers, and even if the lower cover 2 rotates by 180 degrees, the upper cover 3 can be installed still in its state. A lower inside surface of the upper cover 3 is fitted to an outside surface of the installing parts 18 projected to the whole periphery of an installing surface of the lower cover 2, and machine screws 23, 24 are screwed in and fixed to female screws 19, 20 of the lower cover 2 via holes 25, 26 of the upper cover 3. Fixing positions are also formed in line symmetry in the longitudinal direction and the lateral direction of the respective covers, and even if the lower cover 2 is rotated by 180 degrees, the upper cover 3 can be installed still in its state to thereby cope with either installing direction of right water supply and left water supply by rearranging a front face of the upper cover 3.

    • A flushing device for toilets having a float directly connected to the movable part of an inlet valve to form a unitary moving element. A siphon empties the flush tank and becomes inactive until a full tank is flushed again. When the float, which is slidably mounted in a chamber, is forced down for flushing, it forces water from the float chamber into the siphon either alone or with water from the inlet valve, to start a siphoning action to empty the flush tank. At the same time the float opens the inlet valve to supply additional water to start the siphon and to keep the valve open until the flush tank is refilled at which time the float has been raised to its normal position. Provisions are made for preventing a reverse flow from the tank into the inlet pipe during failure of the water supply and for filling the toilet bowl to the desired level at the end of the flushing operation. Provision is also made for conserving water by flushing a predetermined quantity of water for solids and considerably less water for liquids and by providing means for regulating the amount of water to be flushed by the flushing unit.

    • A flushing system (10) for a toilet comprises a storage tank (12), an inlet conduit (14) in fluid connection with the interior of the storage tank for supplying water to the storage tank, and an outlet conduit (16) in fluid connection with the interior of the storage tank for emptying water from the storage tank. The outlet conduit is a siphon. A bell (20) is arranged above the inlet portion (14a) of the inlet conduit and the outlet portion (16a) of the outlet conduit. The bell is movable in a vertical direction between an upper end position and a lower end position. The bell is provided with a valve element (24) adapted to close the inlet conduit (14) when the bell is in its upper end position. A safe and cost-efficient flushing system is thereby provided.
