摘要： The present invention relates to an impact protection device (1) for a weapon. The impact protection device is disposed, in use, to surround the barrel of a weapon at least in its muzzle region. The device has a design and includes material portions which result in mechanical forces applied against the weapon in these portions, e.g. impact, are absorbed in that the portions are deformed. In order to improve the impact absorption and also for purposes of saving material, the impact absorbing part (1a) is provided with flanges (5). The form of the impact-absorbing part is adapted to the form of each respective weapon. As a rule, three variations are required for each weapon model, one variation for surrounding the barrel of the weapon when this is provided with a flashguard (14), one variation to be employed when the barrel is provided with equipment for firing blank ammunition, and one variation when the barrel lacks supplementary equipment.
