摘要： A universal thread protector is provided for protecting either of the pin and box ends of a pipe. The thread protector has a cap with an open end the closed end. A seal element is positioned within and adjacent to the open end of the cap. A ring member is positioned against the seal element between the seal element and the closed end of the cap. Bolts are provided having an end positioned against the ring member. The bolts are movable from an unactuated position to an actuated position wherein the bolt applies a force against the ring member when in the actuated position. As such, the ring member pushes against the seal element so as to deform or compress the seal element against the outer diameter of the pipe positioned within the cap. A method of protecting the threaded ends of pipe is also disclosed.

摘要： A coiled tubing unit includes a coiled tubing assembly and a slickline assembly sharing an axis of rotation with the coiled tubing assembly. A shaft of the coiled tubing assembly is received by bearings on a slickline drum of the slickline assembly and extends through an interior of the slickline drum. A swivel joint connection is rotatably affixed on an end of the main shaft as it exits the interior of the slickline drum, thus allowing for introduction of fluid or cabling into the main shaft and into the coiled tubing. The coiled tubing drum and slickline drum can rotate independently and are powered independently of each other. The coiled tubing and slickline assemblies are preferably affixed to a removable module, the removable module being positioned on a skid having a power unit and appropriate controls.

摘要： A process for reducing cell death in eukaryotic and prokaryotic organisms includes the steps of mixing the organisms with water in a first reactor, strobing light onto the mixture of organisms and water for a period of time, passing the strobed mixture into another reactor, and discharging the mixture from the another reactor. The step of strobing light includes strobing light to the mixture of organisms and water at a frequency of between 10 Hz and 40 Hz. The strobing of the light is between twenty flashes per second and eighty flashes per second. The first reactor is a continuously stirred reactor. The another reactor is a plug flow reactor. The organisms are in an algal culture.
