    • An extrusion device incorporates a rotating roller (2) and material such as raw rubber is shaped on extrusion through a gap between a mouth piece (5) and the roller (2). The extrusion device comprises mouth piece moving means (27) for moving the mouth piece (5) in a radial direction with respect to the roller (2) to make the mouth piece approach or separate from the circumferential surface of the roller, mouth piece positioning means (28) for positioning the mouth piece either close to or held apart from the extrusion roller, and mouth piece stocking means (12) for preliminarily stocking a plurality of mouth pieces (5). Shaping of the material to be extruded is effected when a mouth piece has been brought close to the circumferential surface of the extrusion roller by the mouth piece moving means and it has been positioned by the mouth piece position means (28). When replacement of the mouth piece is required, the mouth piece is separated from the extrusion roller by the mouth piece moving means (27) and is replaced with one of the mouth pieces stocked in the mouth piece stocking means (12), and thereafter the new mouth piece is brought close to the circumfernetial surface of the extruding roller by the mouth piece moving means and is positioned by the mouth piece positioning means.

    • A method of winding a belt-shaped member (3) is used in winding a tire member around a forming drum (11). A position of a leading end (3a) of a tire member is detected to obtain a shifted distance of the leading end relative to the forming drum. The leading end is then transferred to the forming drum, while the leading end is being moved in a width direction to make zero the shifted distance. The leading end is pressed against the forming drum, while the leading end is brought into coincidence with a reference position of the forming drum. The forming drum is then rotated during which the tire member is supplied onto the forming drum. A position of a trailing end (3b) of the tire member is detected to obtain a shifted distance of the trailing end relative to the reference position of the forming drum. The trailing end is then supplied onto the rotating forming drum, while the trailing end is moved in a width direction to make zero the shifted distance of the trailing end. In this manner the tire member is completely wound about the forming drum with the leading end being snugly coincident with the trailing end.
