Apparatus for packaging flowers in bags comprises a plurality of equi-spaced tubes movable by an endless conveyer in a substantially horizontal plane, each tube being capable of pivotal movement between a horizontal position and a vertically suspended position. Means to move the tubes between these two positions is provided and means associated with each tube clamps a bag fitted over the respective tube while the latter is substantially horizontal. The bag is filled while the tube is vertical, and release means co-operate with the clamping means to permit removal of the filled bag. Tubes 1, Fig. 4, are hinged at 4 to carriages 5 on an endless conveyer 2, each tube having a spring- loaded pivoted clamp 12 which is opened as it is lifted to a horizontal position by a fixed rail 8, the bag then being placed on the tube. At the end 20 of the rail, the tubes fall to a vertical position, the bags being gripped by the now released clamps 12. The bags are then filled with flowers through the tubes. A fixed rail 19 opens the clamps successively and releases the filled bags. A table top 21 may be provided above the conveyer for bag and flower storage.

    • A marine vessel is disclosed that comprises at least 3 hulls. At least one of the hulls has a first hull part and a second hull part, the first hull part corresponding to about 60% of the maximum underwater length of the at least one hull, and the second hull part corresponding to about 40% of the maximum underwater length of the at least one hull. A first ratio between a maximum underwater plan area at the first hull part and a waterline plan area at the first hull part at any navigable waterline is greater than about 2.0. A second ratio between a maximum underwater plan area at the second hull part and a waterline plan area at the second hull part at any navigable waterline is less than the greater of about half the first ratio or about 1.15. The waterline plan area at the second hull part is greater than the waterline plan area at the first hull part.
