    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, wherein the strength of the opening angle limiting mechanism of an opening/closing cover is increased. SOLUTION: A frame rear cover 26 is attached to the rear of a frame member 23. On the underside of the cover 26, an opening angle limiting mechanism 30 is disposed for limiting the opening angle of the opening/closing cover 24. The opening angle limiting mechanism 30 includes: a projecting plate 31 projecting in the direction of the inside face of the opening/closing cover 24; a first engagement projection 32 and second engagement projection 33 projecting from the projecting plate 31 almost perpendicular to it; a first cover locking part 34 disposed on the frame member 23; and a second cover locking part 35 disposed on the inside face of the frame rear cover 26. When the opening/closing cover 24 is opened only by a predetermined angle, the first and second engagement projections 32 and 33 are engaged with the first and second cover locking parts 34 and 35 respectively. As a result, rotating force applied in the direction in which the opening/closing cover 24 is opened is spread and received by the first and second cover locking parts 34 and 35.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper-feeding detection device suppressing generation of noise.
      SOLUTION: A paper-feeding detection part 1 is provided with a contact element 3 contacted with paper and an optical sensor body part 7 for detecting motion of the contact element. The contact element 3 is turnably supported on a shaft 5 pivotally supported on a support body part 9. A contact part 3a contacted with the paper is provided on one end side of the contact element 3 and a light-shielding part 3b is provided on an opposite side to the contact part 3a while clamping the shaft 5. The contact element 3 is urged in a direction shown by an arrow 40 by a twisted coil spring 11 attached to the shaft 5 such that a portion on the contact part 3a side of the contact element 3 is brought into contact with a stopper 14 of the support body part 9. The stopper 14 is formed as an L-shaped rib 13 of canti-lever made of thin resin.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce manufacturing cost by easily mounting a guide member and facilitate handling in a paper feed tray. SOLUTION: In this paper feed tray 1, a guide member 2 is slidably installed by fitting a holding piece 2c formed on the lower surface of the guide member 2 to the side end edge of a rail hole 1b. An insertion hole 1c in which the holding piece 2c is inserted is formed at the end of the rail hole 1b. A beam-like claw part 1e having flexibility in the vertical direction is so formed near the end of the insertion hole 1c that closes the insertion hole 1c. When the difference is set (YES at S12), a difference (a current delay amount) between the target position and the current position in the corresponding cycle is calculated (S14). It is judged whether or not a difference (an actual delay amount) between the current delay amount and the initial delay amount exceeds a change amount for two cycles of the target position (S15). If the actual delay amount exceeds the change amount for two cycles of the target position, output to a DC motor is increased (S16).
