    • There is disclosed a lifting device for level lifting. This includes a canvas 2 which is suspended in a lifting bracket 3. The lifting bracket 3 consists of a central lifting beam 12 running in the longitudinal direction of the canvas 1, supporting two mutually pivotable frame members 11. The frame members 11 consist of U-shaped frames where the bottom of the U constitutes a telescoping member 8, including a central member part 9 and two member parts 10 telescoping out from it. The frame member 11 may be pivoted between a first position where they are close to each other, and a second extreme position where they are away from each other. By means of locking means 15, the frame members 11 can be locked in the extreme positions. Since the lifting bracket can be collapsed and telescoped, there will only be limited need for storage space when not in use.

The gait trainer may further comprise a weight sensor, a control unit, a processor and a motor controller. The hoist system may be freely suspended by the weight sensor.
