    • An extension fixture for combining the clamping capacity of a first and a second bar I-beam cross section bar clamp. The first and second bar clamps each have a fixed jaw, a movable jaw, and a primary bar. The movable jaw of each bar clamp has a clamping means configured to provide a clamping force in the direction of the fixed jaw. To use the bar clamps with the extension fixture, the movable jaw is removed from the first bar clamp, and the movable jaw orientation on the second bar clamp is reversed so that the clamping means is then configured to provide a clamping force away form the second fixed jaw. The first and second primary bars are then inserted into the extension fixture, and pinned and clamped in position. The assembly then forms a combined capacity bar clamp.

    • A system for providing communications using sequence numbers for multiple quality of service (QoS) levels includes a first network device. The first network device receives a data packet and determines a QoS level for the data packet. The first network device also determines a sequence number for the data packet based on the QoS level. The first network device then marks the data packet with the sequence number. The system also may include a second network device. The second network device receives from the first network device the data packet marked with the sequence number based on the QoS level of the data packet. The second network device determines an expected sequence number window based on the QoS level of the data packet. The second network device then determines whether the sequence number of the data packet is within the expected sequence number window for the QoS level.

    • Communicating voice over a packet-switching network is implemented on a telecommunications network that includes the packet-switching network, two coding units coupled to the packet-switching network and to an originating node and a terminating node, respectively, and at least one signaling apparatus. The first of the two coding units is configured to extract signaling data associated with the voice call and transmit the signaling data and its network address to the signaling apparatus. Signaling data for establishing the voice call is received by the signaling apparatus, and a network address of the coding unit in the packet-switching network is obtained. The second coding unit is controlled to establish a bearer channel with the first coding unit for carrying the voice data through the packet-switching network, based on the network address.

The electrical device also includes an access region defining a cavity and a surge arrester that electrically couples to the conductor through the access region. The cavity provides access to an interior of the electrical device. The access region may include an insulating projection extending from an insulating body of the electrical device and a conductive cover surrounding the insulating projection. The insulating projection defines the cavity. The conductive cover is electrically isolated relative to a conductive shell that surrounds the insulating body.

    • A method to utilize unscheduled bandwidth in a calendar-based VC scheduling scheme by caching a plurality of virtual connections for processing. A plurality of virtual connection addresses are stored in a cache memory. A virtual connection corresponding to one of these addresses is processed if one of the time periods for transmitting on the trunk is liable to be wasted because no cell is available through the normal calendaring algorithm. A VC cache is added to the VC scheduler in “parallel” with the calendar-based scheduler. When the calendar-based scheduler has a time period in which no VC is scheduled for transmission on the trunk, a VC address is obtained from the cache and that VC is processed. What makes this scheme work is the observation that the VCs that have been active will have more cells to transmit.

    • Disclosed is a thin die adapted to be used in a press. The die disclosed herein includes a base or backing portion that provides rigidity to the die assembly. The base includes an indentation defining a boarder around the peripheral edge of the base. A thin die is housed in the indentation of the base and the thin die is adhered to the indentation of the base by an adhesive. The thin die is positioned in the indentation of the base so that raised portions of the thin die are facing away from the indentation in the base to allow the thin die to cut into a sheet material. Ejection foam is adhered to the raised portion side of the thin die by an adhesive so that the ejection foam protects the raised portion of the thin die and provides an ejection means of the cut shape out of the sheet material. Also disclosed is a die and press system utilizing the thin die disclosed herein. Included in the system is a die press, which may be a platen die press or a roller die press. The die press includes a cutting pad that allows the die to cut through the sheet material and into the cutting pad, if a platen die press is used. The system further includes a thin die adapted to be used with a die press. The thin die includes a base portion, a thin die portion, and an ejection foam portion, wherein the base portion and the ejection foam portion sandwich the thin die portion so that the thin die is located in an indentation located in the base and is adhered to the base by an adhesive. Further, the ejection foam portion is adhered to the thin die portion so as to protect raised portions of the thin die portion. The ejection foam protects the raised portions of the thin die portion and acts as an ejection means to eject the cut shapes from the sheet material.
