    • A single use, hermetically sealing mousetrap has a housing defining an enclosure that is accessible through a rotatably mounted door controlled by a spring-loaded door opening gear mechanism. Mounted to the bottom of the housing inside the enclosure is a spring-actuated setting axle/kill bar and setting bar combination that is movable between a kill position and a set position by manipulation of a setting handle positioned outside the enclosure. When the setting axle/kill bar is moved to the set position, the door opening gear mechanism causes the door to open while tensioning a torsional door spring. A trip latch and bait pedal are configured to operate together to secure the kill and setting bars in the set position, with subsequent movement of the bait pedal by a mouse serving to release the trip latch. When the trap is thereby triggered, the kill bar moves rapidly to the kill position while releasing the door opening gear mechanism. The tensioned door spring then closes the door. With the door closed, the enclosure is hermetically sealed with the dead mouse inside and the trap can be disposed of without any contact between the user and the carcass along with any parasites and pathogens associated therewith.

    • Presented is a humane wild animal trap device that includes a trigger mechanism having four easily assemblable elements for supporting the bait, a bottom flat sheet on which the trigger mechanism is supported when set and baited, and an enclosure the open side of which is superimposed on the flat bottom sheet and which enclosure is tilted upwardly from one end so that the elevated end rests on a selected one of the four elements included in the trigger mechanism and which element is released from a second element that supports the bait when a wild animal takes the bait, thus causing the elevated enclosure to fall onto the flat bottom sheet to trap the wild animal within the enclosure. The four elements of the trigger mechanism are interrelated in such a manner that two of the elements support the trigger mechanism while the other two elements are pivotally interengaged with one of the support elements and are releasably interengaged one with the other to support the tilted enclosure and the bait and to set the trap so that the enclosure falls when the bait is taken.

    • A roach or rodent trap structured for capturing one or more roaches or rodents as a piece of bait is being consumed within the trap. Slidably mating, telescopically extendable upper and lower generally cup-shaped members define a closed interior volume into which a roach or rodent may enter through a hole formed through a side wall of the lower member when the upper member is held in an armed position above the bottom of the lower housing. To hold the upper member in the armed position, a slender elongated trip rod downwardly extends from a central point of the top of the upper member, to be supported on a rigid piece of bait held above the bottom within a horizontal bait aperture of a bait table. The bait table is connected to and upwardly extends into the interior volume from the bottom of the lower member. When so supported by the trip rod on the rigid bait, the upper member will only drop by gravity from the armed position to a closed position after sufficient bait is consumed by roach or rodent to allow the remaining bait portion to pass through the bait aperture then closing the entrance holes and capturing all roaches or rodents within the device at that time. The trap is preferably transparent for viewing of captured prey before disposal.

    • A rodent trap involving an enclosure, having at least one rodent entrance, within which a rodent-trapping member is attached to a shaft which extends through the top of the enclosure. The rodent-trapping member, which may have either a rodent-striking surface or a rodent-enclosing surface, is spring biased from a cocked position high within the enclosure to a released position. The rodent-trapping member is retained in the cocked position by means of a supported retaining pin whose inner end extends into a beveled indentation in the shaft. Release is caused by the movement of the outer end of the retaining pin into alignment with an aperature in the side of the enclosure. Movement of the outer end of the retaining pin is created by pivoting a transversely attached retaining release bar about an adjustable pivot point; such pivoting being generated through mechanical linkage by the movement of a bait holder, or in the alternative, by a hinged floor section. Rotation of a threaded member provides movement of the pivot point, allowing fine adjustment of sensitivity and compensation for wear. Locking means may be provided to retain the rodent trapping member in the released position. A sliding external door may provide bait holder access. A removable entrance extension may guide rodents into the trap from a right angle approach.
