摘要： A child-proof dispenser includes a container (11) having an inner shell (15) covered by an outer shell section (18) to form an inner compartment (12) enclosing a coiled strip of blister-packaged drugs (13) or the like. The inner and outer shells are releasably interlocked together by central hub portions (31, 25) which support the outer shell for rotation relative to the inner shell. The outer shell is rotated away from a stop (46, 47) and against the action of a compression spring (48) to aline inner and outer dispensing openings (42, 45) in the inner and outer shells, respectively. An ejecting trigger (55) carried by the outer shell is moved relative to both shells against the strip in a guide passage (46) to advance a selected number of doses of drugs via the dispensing openings. Upon release of the shells, the compression spring moves the outer shell to a position to cover the inner dispensing opening. A removal tool (81) releasably mounted on a top knob 71 on the outer shell and has a plunger (87) that extends into the outer shell and against the central hub portion of the inner shell to release the central hub portions to separate the shells for the insertion of a new strip of blister-packeged drugs into the inner compartment.

摘要： The present invention includes a cassette-type dispenser for use in the dispensing of drugs contained in strip packages. The cassette-type dispenser is filled periodically by a pharmacy to contain a particular type medication for a patient. The medication is sufficient for a pre-determined period of time such as a 1-month supply. Additional cassette-type dispensers may be used for other types of medication for the same patient. The cassette dispenser is color coded to indicate the time intervals at which the medication is given to the patient. All of the medications for the cassette-type dispensers are located in a portable cart, along with various medications similarly dispensed for other patients. The portable cart is designed for use in facilities such as hospitals or nursing homes with all of the prescription-type drugs being contained under lock and key, and all of the control drugs being contained under double lock and key. Other shelves on the portable cart contain liquid medication, ointments, injectable type of drugs or other typical items needed while dispensing medication. By using the cassette-type dispensers in conjunction with the portable cart, an attendant may easily dispense all of the required drugs for each patient in a facility such as a nursing home.

摘要： An apparatus is provided for delivering single-dose packages sequentially from a substantially continuous strip having a first dispensing end and a second end. The strip includes a cover layer attached to a base layer to define a plurality of blisters therebetween that have one or more medications therein. The blisters are aligned in single file generally along the longitudinal axis between the first and second ends and/or otherwise arranged in single-dose packages adjacent one another, e.g., at least some of the single-dose packages including a plurality of blisters having different types of medications therein. A first single-dose package at the first dispensing end may be separable from a second adjacent single-dose package such that individual single-dose packages may be removed successively from the first dispensing end.

The individual portions (202) comprise either a collection of tobacco particles at least partially enclosed by a coating comprising a water-soluble non-crosslinked component and a substantially water-insoluble cross-linked component; or pouches attached to the base tape (201) with a food-grade adhesive, the pouches comprising smokeless tobacco enclosed in a water-permeable wrapper with at least one lap-sealed edge. Methods of preparing such are disclosed.

The dispenser has an opening mechanism for opening received pockets (126) of the medicament carrier. The mechanism includes an indexer for indexing pockets of a medicament carrier (120) in use with said medicament dispenser. The indexer comprises an index ratchet (140), which is moveable between a locked position in which said ratchet (140) locks a lid driver (130) and a release position in which the ratchet releases the lid driver (130). Actuation of the medicament dispenser releases the index ratchet (140) from the lid driver to enable drivable peeling of the lid sheet (122) from the base sheet (124) of the pocket at an opening station (142).
