摘要： A grenade is defined by a body made from a rubberized material, the body including a hollow interior and a stem section. A cap is releasably secured to the stem section, the cap retaining a fuze assembly which is threadingly engaged therewith. The grenade is equipped with an ejection charge that causes said cap and said fuze assembly to be separated from said body prior to detonation of the grenade. A hydrophobic sealing layer applied to the exterior of the stem section and cap provides a watertight seal relative to the interior of the grenade, but without substantially interfering with the ejection of said cap and fuze assembly.

摘要： A modular hand grenade design that permits the use of compressed powders such as A-5. The hand grenade body is split into two main components—a base/sleeve and a nose cap. These two main components contain the explosive. They are loaded with explosive while still separate. The explosive is loaded into the base/sleeve and compressed to form a solid. A core sleeve is attached to the base to form a void inside the explosive where the detonating portion of a fuse assembly can be placed. Explosive is likewise loaded into the nose cap and compressed to form a solid. The nose cap is attached to the base/sleeve assembly. A fuse assembly is then attached to complete the grenade.

摘要： A self-contained grenade capable of dispersing a non-toxic obscurant composition, or various types of aerosol compositions such as pesticides or antimicrobial/sanitizing agents, is provided. The obscurant or other type of aerosol composition via an exothermic reaction. Release of the obscurant or other type of aerosol composition is effected in a controlled manner by creating heat via a heat producing composition comprising, for example, a thermite composition. The obscurant or other type of aerosol composition is absorbed into a heat transfer media disposed adjacent the heat producing composition. When the exothermic reaction occurs, the heat transfer media transfers the heat to the absorbed material, thereby providing a regulated thermal dispersion of same.
