    • A bottle carrier/cooler is provided for easy, convenient transportation, cooling and storage of a single conventional plastic beverage bottle. The bottle carrier/cooler is configured to substantially contain one standard bottle while exposing the bottle neck and bottle cap. The body of the bottle carrier/cooler is of a diameter sufficient to maintain ice or other refrigerants so the bottled beverage will remain at a desirable low temperature. The beverage which may be a soft drink, can be poured from the bottle without removing the bottle from the carrier/cooler. Finger detents formed within the sidewalls of the carrier/cooler keep the bottle in a radial stable location. A seal connected to the carrier/cooler lid prevents leakage of the refrigerant while the beverage is poured and in conjunction with projections along the bottom of the carrier/cooler stabilize the bottle longitudinally.

    • A cooler is described including at least one combination ice pack and canteen. A container with a dispensing opening is partially filled with water, frozen, and then placed in the cooler along with cooler contents. The ice in the container maintains the cooler contents at a reduced temperature, so that the container serves as an ice pack. Melt-water resulting from melting of the ice while the container is in the cooler may be dispensed as drinking water, so that the container also serves as a canteen. A preferred combination ice pack and canteen comprises a flexible, substantially water-tight bag with an integral, flexible, re-sealable pour spout. The bag is partially filled and preferably arranged in a substantially flattened shape for freezing. Two such flattened ice packs may be placed above and below, or on either side of, the cooler contents.

    • A mold for forming an ice ring on the inner surface of a bottle. The mold is in the form of a cylinder. One end of the mold carries a seal sized to form a fluid tight seal with the inner surface of the bottle neck. The mold is preferably hollow and has a handle attached to the end near the seal. The mold is inserted through the bottle neck until the seal forms a fluid tight seal with the bottle neck. Water is then poured into the bottle through the handle. The bottle is inverted and excess water allowed to flow out through the mold. The bottle is then set on the handle in a freezer until the water freezes. The mold is then removed. The bottle may then be filled with a selected drink through the ice ring.

    • A dry-compartment cooler has a dry compartment (1) with compartment walls (3) that are connected water-tightly to a compartment floor (4). The compartment walls are articulated to extend upwardly from proximate a riser framework (6) on a cooler floor (7) to proximate a bottom side of a cooler lid (8) of a predetermined cooler. One or more ice compartments (10, 11, 12, 13, 14) separate ice and water from inside surfaces of the compartment walls and from space inside of the dry compartment. The ice compartments are in fluid communication intermediate proximate the bottom side of the cooler lid and riser-framework space (9) where the riser framework is positioned under the compartment floor. The compartment walls can have heat-conveyance members (27) for conveying coldness and for deterring moisture formation on food and other items being cooled.

    • An organ containment shipping system has an outer container adapted to receive a passive cooling medium and an inner container adapted to receive an organ to be transported in a preservation medium. The inner container is positioned within the outer container by structure that includes a gimbal mechanism to substantially maintain the inner container in a predefined orientation in the event of a change of orientation of the outer container. Preferably, the preservation medium is a dual-layer preservation liquid having a bottom oxygen carrying layer and a top layer and the inner container include a perforated plate positioned in the inner container above a level of the bottom layer to prevent the organ from rising in the preservation medium. In one embodiment, the organ containment shipping system includes a system for regulating a level of the preservation medium relative to the organ and a system for regulating a temperature of the organ relative to the cooling medium.
