    • PURPOSE:To obtain a filament power supply circuit of an electronic tube power amplifier with simple circuit constitution by changing the ratio of the on/off control periods of switching elements connected as a bridge by means of the switching of an external switch. CONSTITUTION:The switching circuit 3 of the filament power supply unit 1 of an electron tube 5 consists of MOSFET switching elements TR1-TR4 of bridge constitution. A DC voltage whose direction is commentated is impressed from a rectifier circuit 2 to a transformer 1 intermittently by repeating the state of the elements TRs 1,3 turned on and the TRs 2,4 turned off, the TRs 1-4 all turned off, the TRs 2,4 turned on and the TRs 1, 3 turned off, and the TRs 1-4 all turned off by a control signal of the control circuit 4. The secondary voltage of the transformer T1 is rectified (7) to heat the filament of the electron tube 5. In changing the ratio of the switching period of the switch 6, the voltage impressed to the filament is changed and the filament power supply circuit with simple constitution and less power consumption is obtained.

    • An apparatus and method for monitoring, controlling, displaying, and dissipating an electrostatic charge from an object such as a computer monitor, television, workbench, telephone handset or person. An electrostatic charge is electrically coupled to an input terminal of an electrostatic dissipator. The electrostatic dissipator includes a "hardening" circuit, such as a voltage-overload circuit, which serves to protect the components of the electrostatic dissipator itself. As the electrostatic charge is dissipated, a display indicates the level of electrostatic charge being dissipated. This indication permits trouble-shooting electrostatic charge problem areas as well as increasing user awareness of electrostatic problems. A conductive electrostatic solution used in conjunction with the electrostatic dissipator improves dissipation of the electrostatic charge. Similarly, the electrostatic dissipator improves the efficiency of a conductive electrostatic solution.
