    • The invention relates to a processing station for a mail processing machine (1). The housing of said processing station consists of parallel side sections (8, 9) which are located opposite one another at a distance which corresponds to the width of the conveyor belt of the mail processing machine, a housing section (10) which connects said side sections across the conveyor belt and a carrier partition (11) which is fixed to the connecting housing section. The carrier partition (11) is used to support bearings for the shafts and spindles of an actuating device (13) which is located in the corresponding processing station (6) in such a way that the area immediately above the conveyor belt surface is kept free from drive mechanisms and control mechanisms for the actuating device, in order to guide large-format supplements or batches of supplements through the processing station (6).
