    • The invention relates to a device and a method for correcting a flexible material web (1) which is guided to a processing machine, the lower side of the material web incorrectly facing upwards. Said error is the result of a twist or two ends of a material web which are incorrectly connected. In order to correct the error, the material web (1) is rotated at least once about its longitudinal axis, in such a way that the lower side thereof returns to its correct downward-facing position and the correct upper side of the material web reaches the processing machine. The aim of the invention is to be able to correct a flexible material web which is guided in a faulty manner to a processing machine, to avoid the creation of waste on the half-finished product, and to avoid downtime of the processing machine. To this end, a rotatable pair of cylinders (2) is provided, said pair of cylinders causing a correcting rotation of the material web (1) about its longitudinal axis in such a way that the lower side of the material web returns to its correct downward-facing position.
