La construction comprend des longerons (10) qui possedent des rainures receptrices de contremarche et de giron (44, 46) des deux cotes. Les rainures (44, 46) de chaque cote du longeron (10) permettent d'avoir une contremarche et un pas differents. La technique de construction et les escaliers obtenus permettent de reduire sensiblement le temps de montage et d'assemblage sur le chantier par rapport au temps requis avec les escaliers conventionnels. Cette technique reduit aussi le nombre de composants qui doivent etre produits et stockes. La technique s'applique specialement aux escaliers en bois du type a interverrouillage qui, en general, n'ont pas besoin d'organe d'attache, de colle ou de coins.
