摘要： A standard mortise latch lock escutcheon or trim plate having an aperture for housing an electroluminescent strip captured within a two-piece lens structure. A dc or ac external power supply converter is used in conjunction with the existing grid power. The converter is situated on the mortise lock casing. The electroluminescent strip is captured within the lens structure along with partially transparent, lettered signage. The lens structure has an outer lens with a protrusion to align the signage within the aperture. The lettered signage is reversed lettered, such that light emits through the letters and is blocked by an opaque background when the electroluminescent strip is supplied power. In instances where the mortise latch lock is used on doors for purposes other than egress, a switch may be used to toggle power to the signage when the thumb lever is turned in a locked position.

In a described embodiment, the lock assembly 200 comprises a latch 204 arranged to engage a latch engagement member 228 mounted to an adjacent door frame 112; and a rotatable spindle 202 insertable into a lockset hole 104 of the door 100 and connectable to the latch 204 in which the rotatable spindle 202 is arranged to move the latch 204 angularly between a first position in which the latch 204 is engaged with the latch engagement member 288, and a second position in which the latch 204 is disengaged from the latch engagement member 288. The lock assembly 200 also includes a handle 206 for rotating the spindle 202 between the first and second positions from a first side 102a of the door 100, wherein, in the first position, an axial movement of the spindle 202 is arranged to displace the latch 204 linearly to enable the latch 204 to be disengaged from the latch engagement member 288.

Spring seat 35 with a spring 36 returning the handle to the starting position is also placed on the above connector. Music playing node is fixed on the internal handle.

The inner locking mechanism includes a manual control rod, an unlocking rotary plate and an inner actuating rotary plate. The manual control rod has a rotatable wheel while the unlocking rotary plate has a pair of actuating protrusions. In a locking operation, the manual control rod is pressed to a locking position so as to limit a rotational movement of the inner actuating rotary plate. In an unlocking operation, the manual control rod is returned to an unlocking position by turning a lever so as to permit turning the inner actuating rotary plate. When the lever turns the unlocking rotary plate, the actuating protrusions of the unlocking rotary plate smoothly push the rotatable wheel of the manual control rod so as to return the manual control rod to the unlocking position.
