    • An image-forming apparatus is provided to improve the workability for taking out a recording medium discharged on an upper surface of a body frame, by installing an operating unit for operating an image-reading unit at an upstream side of a discharge direction of the recording medium. An image-forming unit is housed in a body frame(12), and forms an image on a recording medium(P). A discharging unit is housed in the body frame, and discharges the recording medium, on which an image is formed by the image-forming apparatus, to an upper discharge part of the body frame. An image-reading unit(200) is installed above the discharge unit to read an image of a manuscript. An operating unit(210) is installed at an upstream side of the discharge part, in a direction in which the recording medium is discharged. The image-reading unit is operated by the operating unit. Lateral sides and a rear side of the discharge part are opened, when viewed from the operating part side.

When the elastic projecting portion (60) is in a non-grounded condition, with respect to the gound contact-object surface, the ground-contact face projects farther outward from the bottom of the grounding portion. When it is in a grounded condition, the elastic projecting portion (60) is deformed elastically, so that the grounding portion is grounded at the ground contact-object surface. In such a support structure for the image processing apparatus, the elastic projecting portion (60) has deformation permissible spaces and grounding portions, arranged alternately adjacently, with the permissible spaces permitting deformation of the elastic projecting portion between the non-grounded condition and grounded condition all the way in a horizontal direction.
