    • An image forming apparatus forms a multicolor toner image by superposing a plurality of monochromatic toner images on a transfer material. The apparatus has: a plurality of toner image carriers on which monochromatic toner images of different colors are respectively formed; toner-image-carrier driver for driving all the toner carriers to rotate in a predetermined period; and a position-shift correction quantity detector for determining the position shift quantity of each monochromatic toner image in the multicolor toner image and outputting a position-shift correction quantity corresponding to the detected result. The toner-image-carrier driver controls the period of rotational driving of each toner image carrier in conformity with the position-shift correction quantity.

    • A color printer includes an electrophotographic process unit for selectively exposing the photosensitive image carriers to form identical latent images thereon, developing the latent images as toner images by supplying toners of different colors, and transferring the toner images onto paper, and a control circuit for controlling amounts of exposure of the latent images to be formed by the electrophotographic process unit. Particularly, the control circuit includes a toner-save key for selecting a toner-save mode, and processing circuit for lowering the exposure amounts of the latent images in the toner-save mode, while changing a rate of the exposure amounts to compensate for a difference between development properties of the toners.

    • An image sampling and color shift correction system in a multiple image forming apparatus forms a multiple image by providing a plurality of image output units along a transfer belt. An image control unit applies image data to the image output units. A pattern generator repeatedly generates a register shift measurement pattern in the main scanning direction and the sub-scanning direction of the respective image output units. The register shift measurement pattern is formed outside of the largest paper area. A sampling unit samples an image formed by the respective image output units at both sides of a paper on the transfer belt in the main scanning direction of the transfer belt. A processing unit takes data sampled by the sampling unit and processes the amount of register shift. A control unit controls the image output and image sampling correction.

    • A developing/transferring module and an image forming apparatus having the same are provided to install a middle transferring unit and photosensitive member portions integrally in a sub frame, thereby preventing a color alignment error caused by an assembly process. A developing/transferring module(200) includes a sub frame(210), plural photosensitive member portions, and a middle transferring unit(240). The sub frame is installed detachably on a main frame(110). The plural photosensitive member portions are disposed at regular intervals within the sub frame and have photosensitive members(223) to which developer is attached. The middle transferring unit is installed to be opposite to the plural photosensitive member portions within the sub frame. Developer of the photosensitive member portions is transferred first on the middle transferring unit. The middle transferring unit transfers the first transferred developer to the recording paper of the main frame second.
